Leucocytozoon lovati infections in wild rock ptarmigan (Lagopus mutus) in Japan.

Leucocytozoon lovati infections were detected in free-flying rock ptarmigan (Lagopus mutus), an endangered species that inhabits alpine areas in Japan. Eight of nine adult birds tested positive for L. lovati infection.
