Serious accidents have been caused by drowsy bus drivers and have necessitated an examination of the risk factors involved. A questionnaire survey among employees of a bus company was conducted in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan in September 2014. Respondents were asked to report details of their work and life over the preceding month.

A field of view (FoV) of the resistive bolometer systems specialized for the total radiated power analysis has been designed with bolometer systems having multiple-apertures in JT-60SA. The multi-aperture bolometer system can reduce the required number of bolometer channels for the determination of the total radiated power. The FoV design has been carried out to minimize unobserved and overlapping regions with the following requirements: (i) independent determination of the divertor and the main plasma radiation, (ii) limitation of the use of only three diagnostic ports, and (iii) a redundant FoV design.

Two design techniques for the field of view (FoV) of a resistive bolometer system for the analysis of the total radiated power have been developed. The first technique is a new concept of the resistive bolometer system having multiple apertures to achieve a large viewing angle with one bolometer channel. The second technique is an optimization technique of the bolometer location in the major radial direction to minimize error of the analysis.

An extended Computed Tomography (CT) technique with a priori information based on Phillips-Tikhonov regularization has been developed to handle a high-contrast radiation distribution, which can result in large reconstruction errors in the region where radiation intensity is low, with few line of sight (LOS) data. Reference profiles generated from LOS data for every time slice are employed as the a priori information. In the extended technique, the weighting parameter for the reference profile is automatically determined from the LOS data, to avoid an inappropriate reference.

An InfraRed imaging Video Bolometer (IRVB) system in JT-60SA has been designed for the two-dimensional (2D) Computed Tomography (CT) analysis of radiation. To achieve complete viewing of the whole poloidal cross section for plasmas having a low aspect ratio, a new IRVB concept, which has two sets of pin-hole camera systems viewing two different directions, has been introduced. Fields of view of the IRVB have been successfully designed by moving apertures to be sufficient for CT use without installation in tangential ports.

Introduction: Since 1991, the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau has allowed pilots over the age of 60 to continue flying for the airlines, subject to regular medical review. Background: On May 14, 1991, the Japanese Ministry of Transport issued an official notice allowing medically certified airline transport pilots aged 60 to 63 yr old (aged pilot) to work on non-scheduled flights. Since September 24, 1996, the official notice was revised to allow them to work on scheduled flights. The regulation requires pilots to pass both routine and additional aviation medical examinations.
