Rapidly Growing Chest Wall Lipoma: Case Report and Calculating Volume Doubling Time.

Chest wall lipoma is a rare disease that might be asymptomatic and discovered incidentally. Chest wall lipomas are presumed to grow slowly, but no reports have evaluated the tumor volume doubling time (TVDT). The present study herein reports the case of a 35-year-old female patient with a relatively fast-growing chest wall lipoma.

Atypical Remitting Seronegative Symmetrical Synovitis with Pitting Edema Syndrome in an Elderly Lung Cancer Patient.

Remitting seronegative symmetrical synovitis with pitting edema (RS3PE) syndrome develops in patients with various underlying diseases. The involvement of vascular endothelial growth factor in the development of this syndrome has been suggested and malignant disease could be one of the underlying diseases of RS3PE syndrome. This syndrome is interpreted as one of the paraneoplastic syndromes that often have a poor prognosis.

Development of formaldehyde sensing element using porous glass impregnated with beta-diketone.

We have developed a sensor element for detecting formaldehyde. The sensor element is made of porous glass impregnated with both beta-diketone and ammonium ions. We used three kinds of beta-diketone; acetylacetone, 1-phenyl-1,3-butanedione, and 1,3-diphenyl-1,3-propanedione.
