Introduction: Peritonitis is a complication in patients on peritoneal dialysis that frequently results from touch contamination. Most cases of peritoneal dialysis-related peritonitis are caused by skin organisms. Herein, we are presenting a series of peritonitis cases with unusual organisms in a single home dialysis center at an academic hospital in New York City.

Antibodies against the virus are thought to offer protection, but a thorough characterization of anti-SARS-CoV-2 immune globulin isotypes in kidney transplant recipients following SARS-CoV-2 infection has not been reported.
Methods: We performed a cross-sectional study of 49 kidney transplant recipients and 42 immunocompetent controls at early (≤14 days) or late (>14 days) time points after documented SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common finding in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and has been associated with higher rates of death when compared to COVID-19 patients without kidney injury. Whereas the definitive pathogenesis of COVID-19-related AKI (CoV-AKI) is not clear, histopathologic evidence seems to point at multiple etiologies for the disease, including indirect and direct viral kidney injury. The high incidence of CoV-AKI, along with the aggressive clinical presentation of this entity, have increased the demands for kidney replacement therapies, rapidly overwhelming the supplies of healthcare systems even in major tertiary care centers.
