Exercise-induced injury may intensify inflammatory response and reduce the cardiovascular protection mechanisms of omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω 3 PUFA). Therefore, this study aimed to determine the erythrocyte content of fatty acids (ω 3 and ω 6), the levels of cardiac damage markers (CKMB, hsTnT, H - FABP), the concentration of inflammation mediators (IL-6, TNF α) in long distance runners supplemented with ω 3 PUFA. Twenty-four male long distance runners, who were randomly assigned to a placebo group (GrP) or a group supplemented (GrSuppl) with a daily dose of 3,000 mg of ω 3 PUFA for three weeks, participated in the study.

Introduction: We present a case of sepsis caused by isolated sphenoiditis.

Material And Method: The case being described concerns 61-year-old woman treated at the Department of Occupational Diseases of Wroclaw Medical University due to body temperature maintaining for 2 months at above 38 degrees C, leucocytosis reaching 14-16 thousand and weight loss of about 4 kg. Detailed diagnostics did not confirm the preliminary diagnosis of system or neoplastic disease.

Fibrous dysplasia (FD) is a benign but slowly progressive disorder of bone in which normal cancellous bone is replaced by immature woven bone and fibrous tissue. A case of 42 years-old man with bilateral big sized (12 x 5 cm and 10 x 4,5 cm) oncocytoma in submandibular glands was presented. Oncocytoma is a rare benign neoplasm observed in numerous of organs. In the case described besides submandibular glands tumours, accessory oncocytic tumours in both kidneys were diagnosed.

Middle-ear ceruminous adenomas are rare benign neoplasms arising from the epithelium of the middle ear. Progressive hearing loss, ear fullness and tinnitus are common symptoms of this tumour; facial nerve paresis and vestibular disturbances occur very infrequently. We present two cases of middle-ear ceruminous adenomas, one showed rapid unilateral hearing loss with aural fullness, followed by purulent aural discharge and vertigo.
