Background And Objectives: Although effective irrigation methods are crucial for pulpectomy in primary teeth (PT), no consensus exists on the best technique. This study guides clinicians in making evidence-based choices for irrigation techniques in PT.

Design: This study reviewed in vitro and in vivo research on PT using an extensive electronic search up to April 2024.

Background: Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity, which affects a person's thoughts, behavior, motivation, feelings, and sense of wellbeing. Pharmacologic therapies are still the best effective treatment of depression. Still, most antidepressant drugs have low efficacy and delayed onset of therapeutic action, have different side effects, and even exacerbate depression.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study examines the prevalence of the bony bridge known as Ponticulus Posticus (PP) on the vertebral artery in orthodontic patients at Mashhad Dental School, finding it present in 17.5% of the analyzed cephalograms.
  • - A total of 861 cephalogram images were reviewed, revealing a higher occurrence of PP in males compared to females and no significant correlation between PP and skeletal malocclusion types.
  • - This research is the first to report on PP prevalence in Eastern Iran, highlighting the need for further studies using 3D imaging techniques for better diagnosis and understanding of PP in the region.

Developing regenerative endodontic treatment (RET) is an exciting approach to managing immature permanent teeth with pulp necrosis. RET is usually performed in two clinical steps: disinfection (first step) and tissue engineering (second step). Recently, laser therapy has entered the field of RET.

The expression of costimulatory molecules such as MHC-II, CD86 and CD83 on dendritic cells (DCs) are strongly regulated during cellular activation. Ubiquitination of some of these markers by the E3 ubiquitin ligase MARCH-I affects the maturation state of DCs and subsequently modulates immune responses. The effects of MARCH-I gene overexpression on the functional activity of human DCs is not well understood.

Background: The combination of estradiol cypionate (ECA) and medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) is used to prevent pregnancy in women. The analysis of the ECA and MPA combination reveals a challenge due to the strong overlap of the spectra of these compounds.

Objective: Spectrophotometry techniques along with chemometrics methods are simple, fast, precise, and low-cost for the simultaneous determination of ECA and MPA in a combined pharmaceutical dosage form.

Background: Chromatographic methods have been used for the simultaneous determination of salmeterol (SMT) and fluticasone (FLU). The methods take a lot of analysis time, need sample pre-treatment and large amounts of solvents, and are costly.

Objective: The aim of this paper was to propose a simple, quick, and low-cost method for the determination of SMT and FLU using a time series neural network and multivariate calibration methods, including partial least-squares (PLS) and principal component regression (PCR).

Early loss of the primary second molar (DSM) before the eruption of the permanent first molar (PFM) may result in its mesial drift during the eruption. Traditionally, a distal shoe space maintainer is used in this situation to control the path of eruption and preserve the space. However, considering its disadvantages, an alternative appliance needs to be developed for guiding the unerupted PFM.

Aim: Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1) is one of the major biomarkers involved in the pathogenesis of chronic periodontitis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the changes in salivary IL-1 concentration in patients with chronic periodontitis following daily consumption of green tea.

Methods And Materials: Thirty patients with an average age of 45.

Background: Dental implants have been one of the most popular treatments for rehabilitating individuals with single missing teeth or fully edentulous jaws since their introduction. As more implant patients are well-aged and take several medications due to various systemic conditions, clinicians should take into consideration the possible drug implications on bone remodeling and osseointegration.

Objective: The present study aims to examine and review some desirable and unwelcomed implications of medicine on osseointegration.

Dendritic cells are one of the most popular immune cells, which plays a remarkable role in both immunotherapy and tolerance induction. Due to unwanted side effects of leukocyte presence in donated blood, the policy of blood service is the pre-storage reduction of leukocytes, which today, filtration is the most common method for this purpose. The filtration method has led to diminished access to Buffy coat as a generally used conventional source of biological cells.

In this research, the simultaneous absorption of Salmeterol (SAL) and Fluticasone (FLU) in Seroflo spray was investigated using a spectrophotometric device via employing continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and radial basis function neural network (RBF-NN) methods. Root mean square error (RMSE) related to the RBF model was obtained 3.17 × 10 and 1.

Introduction: The isolation of captured peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMNCs) from leukoreduction filters (LRFs) can be of great importance in terms of bringing the lost cells back into use.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate various methods based on their potential to recover the peripheral blood cells from LRFs with a focus on mononuclear cells (MNCs).

Method: For cell isolation from LRFs, three distinct methods (back-flushing, direct and vacuum pump) were compared through the calculation of the yield of isolated MNCs.

In this study, a fast, low-cost, accurate, and precise spectrophotometric method based on the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) was assayed to determine dorzolamide (DOR) and timolol (TIM) in an eye drop sample simultaneously. Different wavelet families were investigated to select the best family for analyzing the DOR and TIM. The Mexican hat wavelet (MHW) family with the wavelength of 281 nm and Gaussian wavelet family (gaus2) in the wavelength of 267 nm were found for the simultaneous analysis of DOR and TIM, respectively.

In the present study, artificial neural networks (ANNs) and support vector regression (SVR) as intelligent methods coupled with UV spectroscopy for simultaneous quantitative determination of Dorzolamide (DOR) and Timolol (TIM) in eye drop. Several synthetic mixtures were analyzed for validating the proposed methods. At first, neural network time series, which one type of network from the artificial neural network was employed and its efficiency was evaluated.
