Article Synopsis
  • Approximately 50% of people globally test seropositive for an unspecified infection, prompting a study to evaluate its prevalence in patients with dyspepsia at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre from January to June 2022.
  • The study enrolled 180 dyspepsia patients, finding that a significant number experienced symptoms like nausea, flatulence, frequent burping, and epigastric pain, with various risk factors such as higher BMI, smoking, and living in rural areas associated with a higher likelihood of seropositivity.
  • Ultimately, the findings suggest that the prevalence of this infection in the population is high, and those with multiple identified risk factors should undergo further medical evaluations.

We irradiate the single crystal boron-doped silicon (Si) at various laser fluences with 100 laser shots in ambient air at room temperature using an Nd:YAG laser and investigate its surface morphology and optical properties. The optical microscopy gives evidence of the formation of a crater and reveals that the heat-affected zone and melted area are increased with increase in laser fluence from 1.1 to 15.
