  • The study aimed to evaluate which treatment—onion extract, topical steroid, or petrolatum emollient—is most effective for preventing scars after bilateral upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).
  • Participants had their eyelids randomly assigned to one of the three treatments post-surgery, and outcomes were assessed using the Manchester Scar Scale (MSS) and Visual Analog Scale (VAS).
  • Results showed no significant differences in scar outcomes among the treatment groups, indicating that onion extract, topical steroids, and petrolatum emollient were equally ineffective in reducing scar formation.
