The recent pernicious COVID-19 pandemic is caused by SARS-CoV-2. While most therapeutic strategies have focused on the viral spike protein, Open Reading Frame 8 (ORF8) plays a critical role in causing the severity of the disease. Nonetheless, there still needs to be more information on the ORF8 binding epitopes and their appropriate safe inhibitors.

The human epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR/ErbB) family consists of four members (ErbB1-4) and belongs to the superfamily of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). The ErbB family members participate in multiple cellular pathways and are the key players in several cancers (brain, breast, lung etc.).

We have investigated the effect of deposition of a α-FeO thin layer on a substrate of TiO nanoparticles for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting. The TiO layer was coated on an FTO substrate using the paste of TiO nanoparticles. The α-FeO layer was deposited on the TiO thin film, using the method of Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) with different cycles.

TiO2-based photocatalysts are seen as the most common agents for the photodegradation of bacteria. In this study, AgCl/TiO2, hydroxyapatite(Hp)/AgCl/TiO2, AgI/TiO2, and Hp/AgI/TiO2 were prepared by the deposition-precipitation method on P25 TiO2 nanoparticles and were characterized by XRD, SEM, FT-IR, EDX and BET methods. The prepared composites showed high efficiency for the inactivation of Escherichia coli (E.
