Quantifying the Value of the Molecular Tumor Board: Discordance Recommendation Rate and Drug Cost Avoidance.

Purpose: Molecular tumor boards (MTBs) provide interventions that assist the patient's primary oncologist's interpretation and application of precision oncology and avoid clinical and financial toxicities of prescribing inappropriate targeted therapy. In this article, we describe a novel method for illustrating MTBs value and recommendation discordance rate and report associated drug cost avoidance data.

Methods: From January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021, patients assessed by our program's MTB were retrospectively evaluated.

Interactions Between Opioids and Dextroamphetamine on Locomotor Activity: Influence of an Opioid's Relative Efficacy at the Mu Receptor.

Opioids and stimulants are often used in combination for both recreational and non-recreational purposes. High-efficacy mu opioid agonists generally increase the behavioral effects of stimulants, whereas opioid receptor antagonists generally attenuate the behavioral effects of stimulants; however, less is known regarding the interactions between stimulants and opioids possessing low to intermediate efficacy at the mu receptor. The purpose of this study was to examine the role of an opioid's relative efficacy at the mu receptor in altering the behavioral effects of dextro(-)amphetamine.

Ketamine as an Analgesic Adjuvant in Adult Trauma Intensive Care Unit Patients With Rib Fracture.

Background: Rib fracture associated pain is difficult to control. There are no published studies that use ketamine as a therapeutic modality to reduce the amount of opioid to control rib fracture pain.

Objective: To examine the analgesic effects of adjuvant ketamine on pain scale scores in trauma intensive care unit (ICU) rib fracture.

Kangaroo care at birth for full term infants: a pilot study.

Purpose: To determine whether breastfeeding behaviors, skin temperature, and blood glucose values could be influenced through the use of kangaroo care at the time of birth in healthy full term infants.

Method: Descriptive study with nine full term neonates given kangaroo care beginning within 1 minute of birth and continuing until completion of the first breastfeeding by mothers who intended to breastfeed. Infant skin temperature was taken at 1 and 5 minutes after birth and every 15 minutes thereafter.

A comparison of quality of life and psychosocial functioning in obsessive-compulsive disorder and body dysmorphic disorder.

Background: Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) are possibly related disorders characterized by poor functioning and quality of life. However, few studies have compared these disorders in these important domains.

Methods: We compared functioning and quality of life in 210 OCD subjects, 45 BDD subjects, and 40 subjects with comorbid BDD+OCD using reliable and valid measures.

Social functioning in body dysmorphic disorder: assessment considerations.

Individuals with body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) have markedly poor social functioning; however, previous reports may underestimate impairment. Scoring on certain functioning measures such as the Social Adjustment Scale-Self Report (SAS-SR) potentially excludes more severely ill individuals from some domains, thereby possibly underestimating functional impairment. To explore this issue, 73 individuals with BDD who reported having no primary relationship (and were therefore excluded from scoring on the SAS-SR Primary Relationship domain) were compared to 58 individuals with BDD who had a primary relationship.
