Presumed intramedullary spinal cord sarcoidosis in a healthy young adult woman.

Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease of unknown etiology associated with the development of granulomatous nodules in various organs, most commonly the lungs, eyes, and skin. It rarely affects the central nervous system, with the spinal cord being least common area of involvement. However, when sarcoidosis does affect the central nervous system, it is often the first presentation of the disease, making diagnosis more difficult.

Moderate-heeled shoes and knee joint torques relevant to the development and progression of knee osteoarthritis.

Objective: To determine if women's dress shoes with heels of just 1.5 in (3.8 cm) in height increases knee joint torques, which are thought to be relevant to the development and/or progression of knee osteoarthritis (OA) in both the medial and patellofemoral compartments.
