Arrhythmogenic Antitussive: A Case of Pediatric Benzonatate Overdose With Torsades de Pointes, Cardiac Arrest, and Complete Recovery Without Neurologic Deficits.

Benzonatate is a commonly prescribed antitussive with rapid and deadly effects in overdose. We report a 14-year-old female who ingested 14 capsules containing 200 mg benzonatate. Her case represents the only reported benzonatate overdose with torsades de pointes, as well as the only reported pediatric benzonatate ingestion complicated by cardiac arrest with full recovery.

The case of the missing appendix: a case report of appendiceal intussusception at the site of colonic mullerianosis.

Right lower quadrant pain is a symptom with an exceptionally broad differential diagnosis. Intussusception of the appendix is a very uncommon condition with many manifestations. Additionally, the pathologic finding of ectopic presence of a mixture of at least two mullerian-derived tissue components is rare.

A Novel Approach to the Management of Margin-positive DCIS in Nipple-sparing Mastectomy.

Nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) is gaining acceptance as an oncologically sound and cosmetically superior mastectomy technique. Debate exists over the management of positive margins near the nipple-areola complex. This case report presents a novel approach to the management of margin-positive ductal carcinoma in situ in NSM.
