Background: Robotic prostatectomy and robotic hysterectomy require steep Trendelenburg positioning. Many authors documented significant increases in intraocular pressure (IOP) during steep Trendelenburg. However, the long-term biological effect of a significant increase in IOP on the structural and functional ocular system is unknown.
