Phytoprostanes and phytofurans: Bioactive compounds in aerial parts of Acacia cyanophylla Lindl.

The relevance of oxylipins as biomarkers of oxidative stress has been established in recent years. Phytoprostanes and phytofurans are plant metabolites derived from peroxidation of α-linolenic acid (ALA) induced by ROS. Previous findings have suggested new valuable biological properties for these new active compounds in the frame of diverse pathophysiological situations and health constraints.
