  • Anthracosis is a mild form of pneumoconiosis caused by deposits of carbon dust, and this paper reports the first case of its coexistence with p-ANCA-associated vasculitis.
  • The case involves a 73-year-old male with lung nodules that displayed high uptake in PET/CT scans, despite showing minimal clinical symptoms.
  • The findings suggest that granulomas formed from anthracosis can lead to misleading high SUV values in imaging, highlighting the need for further research on the connection between air pollution and atypical lung conditions.
