We report on a successful thoracic endovascular aortic repair for perigraft seroma (PGS) after ascending aorta replacement (AAR). An 82-year-old man underwent AAR. Two years after the operation, computed tomography showed a 75-mm PGS around the ascending aorta.

Unprecedented in size among cryogenic calorimetric experiments, CUORE provides a promising setting for the study of exotic throughgoing particles. Using the first tonne year of CUORE's exposure, we perform a search for hypothesized fractionally charged particles (FCPs), which are well-motivated by various standard model extensions and would have suppressed interactions with matter.

The primary treatment involves thorough lesion debridement; however, complete removal may be challenging in cases involving intracranial extension. Here, we report a case of invasive fungal rhinosinusitis with intracranial and orbital invasion successfully managed with maximal surgical debridement and antifungal therapy.

This study aimed to determine the target AUC24/MIC ratio associated with vancomycin-treated MRCoNS infection outcomes.
Methods: This multicentre retrospective cohort study included adult patients who received vancomycin for ≥5 days for bloodstream infections caused by MRCoNS between January 2018 and December 2023.
Background: Peritoneal metastasis, a major complication of colorectal cancer (CRC), often leads to poor quality of life and unfavorable outcomes. Despite numerous studies characterizing its biological features in CRC, intratumor heterogeneity and interactions between cancer cells and tumor microenvironment cells remain poorly understood.
Methods: To explore these aspects, we performed single-cell transcriptome analysis of matched primary tumor and peritoneal metastasis samples from a treatment-naïve patient.
Gastric cancer (GC) is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Japan, underscoring the urgent need for deeper insights into its pathogenesis. Spheroids provide a more realistic and versatile model for studying cancers and cancer stem cells (CSCs). While fructose-bisphosphate aldolase C (ALDOC) has been identified in colorectal cancer spheroids, its role in GC has remained largely unexplored.

We recently reported that in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), adipocyte enhancer-binding protein 1 (AEBP1) is abundantly expressed in cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), leading to CAF activation and inhibition of CD8 + T cell infiltration. In the present study, we investigated whether AEBP1 contributes to the destruction and atrophy of muscle tissues in OSCC.

Methods: Sixty-three postmenopausal women were age-stratified and randomly assigned to receive arabinogalactan-rich hyuganatsu juice (study group) or a placebo drink (control group) for 90 days.
Metastasis is a complex process that remains poorly understood at the molecular levels. We profiled single-cell transcriptomic, genomic, and epigenomic changes associated with cancer cell progression, chemotherapy resistance, and metastasis from a Stage IV breast cancer patient. Pretreatment- and posttreatment-specimens from the primary tumor and distant metastases were collected for single-cell RNA sequencing and subsequent cell clustering, copy number variation (CNV) estimation, transcriptomic factor estimation, and pseudotime analyses.

However, the treatment choices and prognoses for older patients with cancer recurrence remain unclear. We retrospectively investigated the treatment choices and prognoses of older patients with recurrence.

Objective: Oligo-recurrence refers to the presence of a limited number of metachronous recurrences that can be treated with radical local therapy, and most patients have a good prognosis. However, the clinical course after local therapy for oligo-recurrence of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) varies, and the prognostic factors are unclear. The aim of this study was to elucidate the prognostic factors of patients with oligo-recurrence of NSCLC who underwent radical local therapy.

Herein, we report a case of both AME and apocrine carcinoma in different breasts of a single patient. A 48-year-old woman presented to our clinic with a right breast tumor.

To examine its durability and validity, we investigated mid-term outcomes following AV repair without aortic root replacement. Methods Between March 2007 and May 2018, we retrospectively identified 14 patients who underwent AV repair without aortic root replacement at our institution.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFamilial platelet disorder with associated myeloid malignancies (FPDMM) is an autosomal dominant disease caused by heterozygous germline mutations in RUNX1. It is characterized by thrombocytopenia, platelet dysfunction, and a predisposition to hematological malignancies. Although FPDMM is a precursor for diseases involving abnormal DNA methylation, the DNA methylation status in FPDMM remains unknown, largely due to a lack of animal models and challenges in obtaining patient-derived samples.

Fine needle aspiration cytology of the superficial cervical lymph node revealed large lymphoblast-like cells with mitoses. However, the epigenetic diversity across these cell lines remains poorly understood. In this study, we performed genome-wide chromatin accessibility analysis on 23 breast cancer cell lines, including 2 estrogen receptor (ER)-positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative (ER+/HER2-), 3 ER+/HER2+, 3 HER2+, and 15 triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) lines.
