Unlabelled: Breast surgery is an area of practice where patients value before and after photographs (BAPs). Consensus is needed to develop guidelines to address the deficit in the literature regarding appropriate use of BAPs, as these may ultimately play a significant role in the breast surgery consent process.
Methods: Expert breast reconstructive surgeons participated in a modified nominal group technique (NGT) to establish expert consensus on categories and criteria to be used when evaluating appropriate use of BAPs as part of informed consent.
Objective: To describe the development of cognitive task analysis (CTA)-based multimedia educational videos for surgical trainees in plastic surgery.
Design: A needs assessment survey was used to identify 5 plastic surgery skills on which to focus the educational videos. Three plastic surgeons were video-recorded performing each skill while describing the procedure, and were interviewed with probing questions.

Purpose Of Review: Surgical approaches to the upper facial skeleton comprise the coronal, lower eyelid and midface degloving approaches. These are routinely employed in both ablative and reconstructive craniofacial procedures. The ability to perform them in a well tolerated and predictable manner is predicated on knowledge of the indications and the exposure afforded by each approach, detailed appreciation of the anatomy and awareness of potential complications.

This topology has been proposed to be established at a specific developmental stage and to be associated, in turn, with cell type-specific gene expression. Using murine, cerebellar Purkinje neurons, we have shown previously that the number and the extent of clustering as well as the spatial, intranuclear distribution of centromeric domains change as a function of postnatal development.

A fundamental goal in developmental neurobiology is the identification of mechanisms that dictate the orderly expression of genes in a cell-specific manner. Given that different neuronal populations feature a characteristic spatial topology of centromeric sequences, the positioning of specific DNA sequences may constitute such a mechanism.
