The current study analyzes data from a nationally-representative survey of 1534 LGB people across three age cohorts.

Highly Crosslinked Polybenzoxazines from Monobenzoxazines: The Effect of Meta-Substitution in the Phenol Ring.

It is possible to control the crosslink density of polymers derived from monobenzoxazines by switching the type of substituents in the phenolic ring and their relative position with respect to the phenol group. We prepared several substituted monobenzoxazines in the para and meta positions of the phenolic ring and studied how these substituents affected the polymerization temperature of monomers and the thermal stability of the final polymers and, more extensively, how they affected the crosslink network of the final polymers. Gel content and dynamic mechanical analysis confirm that ortho- and para-orienting substituents in the meta position generate highly crosslinked materials compared to para ones.

In Escherichia coli, the first molecular assembly of the divisome, the proto-ring, is formed by the association of FtsZ polymers to the cytoplasmic membrane through the membrane-tethering FtsA and ZipA proteins. The MinCDE system plays a major role in the site selection of the division ring because these proteins oscillate from pole to pole in such a way that the concentration of the FtsZ-ring inhibitor, MinC, is minimal at the cell center, thus favoring FtsZ assembly in this region.

Dosimetric analysis of rectal filling on rectal doses during vaginal cuff brachytherapy.

Purpose: Several studies have analyzed the effect of bladder filling during vaginal cuff brachytherapy (VCB), but the effect of rectum filling has not been studied. We sought to evaluate the effects of rectal volume on rectal doses during postoperative VCB.

Methods And Materials: Brachytherapy planning CT scans (334 sets) obtained from 92 consecutive patients treated with VCB were resegmented (bladder and rectum) and replanned retrospectively using the same parameters to homogenize data and improve analysis.

Despite a large body of literature covering sexual identity development milestones, we know little about differences or similarities in patterns of identity development among subgroups of the lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) population. For this study, we assessed identity milestones for 396 LGB New Yorkers, ages 18-59.
