Background: Dual-task function is compromised among individuals with prodromal Alzheimer's disease (AD) and others at risk of developing AD. While exercise has been studied as a therapeutic candidate, the activity of social dance might promote dual-task rehabilitation as well or better than conventional exercise.

Objective: Compare effects of social dance versus home exercise on dual-task function and intervention adherence among individuals with increased risk of developing AD: survivors of breast cancer (BC) with chemotherapy-induced neuropathy (CIN).

Successful outcome of performing CO2 laser ablation in a middle-aged female with angiokeratoma of Fordyce.

Angiokeratoma of Fordyce, a localized form of angiokeratoma, is commonly found on the scrotum but rarely affects the vulva. We have documented a case of angiokeratoma of Fordyce in a female patient. She was treated with two sessions of CO2 laser ablation, following which her lesions resolved.

Evaluation of wastewater surveillance results for SARS-CoV-2 at the national scale in the Slovak Republic.

As the COVID-19 transits to endemicity, the frequency of clinical testing and its utility for determining lineage prevalence has declined. This situation is not unique to Slovakia but reflects a global trend, as attention shifts from COVID-19 to other post-pandemic issues and emerging global health challenges. Nevertheless, the pandemic itself has spurred advancements in monitoring the epidemiological situation.

In this study, we propose a hybrid framework that combines deep learning (DL) with quantum computing to enhance the accuracy of lung cancer detection using chest radiographs (CXR) and computerized tomography (CT) images.

Importance: Occupational therapy is one of the most used interventions for children on the autism spectrum. There is a critical need to develop an operationalized list of key treatment components of usual-care occupational therapy practice for children on the autism spectrum.

Objective: To identify and develop consensus on definitions and examples of key treatment components of usual-care occupational therapy for children on the autism spectrum, ages 6 to 13 yr.

An Unusual Case of Recurrent Cutaneous Carcinomas Over Extragenital Multicentric Pigmented Bowen's Disease.

Bowen's disease is a slowly progressive squamous cell carcinoma (SSC) with high potential for malignant transformation. In this case, we describe a patient with multicentric Bowen's disease for the past 26 years, developing growths over his left buttock. The patient had a previous history of growth developing over his right thigh, and was diagnosed with metatypical basal cell carcinoma (BCC).

Imaging the electron charge density in monolayer MoS at the Ångstrom scale.

Four-dimensional scanning transmission electron microscopy (4D-STEM) has recently gained widespread attention for its ability to image atomic electric fields with sub-Ångstrom spatial resolution. These electric field maps represent the integrated effect of the nucleus, core electrons and valence electrons, and separating their contributions is non-trivial. In this paper, we utilized simultaneously acquired 4D-STEM center of mass (CoM) images and annular dark field (ADF) images to determine the projected electron charge density in monolayer MoS.

Fluids and Electrolytes under Confinement in Single-Digit Nanopores.

Confined fluids and electrolyte solutions in nanopores exhibit rich and surprising physics and chemistry that impact the mass transport and energy efficiency in many important natural systems and industrial applications. Existing theories often fail to predict the exotic effects observed in the narrowest of such pores, called single-digit nanopores (SDNs), which have diameters or conduit widths of less than 10 nm, and have only recently become accessible for experimental measurements. What SDNs reveal has been surprising, including a rapidly increasing number of examples such as extraordinarily fast water transport, distorted fluid-phase boundaries, strong ion-correlation and quantum effects, and dielectric anomalies that are not observed in larger pores.

The role of precautions: Organising a medical conference during COVID-19 pandemic-Lessons from IADVL MIDDERMACON 2021.

Background: The use of virtual platforms for clinical meetings has become the default approach during this pandemic era. Organising an offline conference during a pandemic is a challenge and is possible if the participating crowd is vaccinated and is willing to follow appropriate pandemic protocols.

Objective: To determine the feasibility of conducting a conference among mostly vaccinated delegates using standard precautionary protocols.

Photoabsorption Imaging at Nanometer Scales Using Secondary Electron Analysis.

Optical imaging with nanometer resolution offers fundamental insights into light-matter interactions. Traditional optical techniques are diffraction limited with a spatial resolution >100 nm. Optical super-resolution and cathodoluminescence techniques have higher spatial resolutions, but these approaches require the sample to fluoresce, which many materials lack.

Imaging Arrangements of Discrete Ions at Liquid-Solid Interfaces.

The individual and collective behavior of ions near electrically charged interfaces is foundational to a variety of electrochemical phenomena encountered in biology, energy, and the environment. While many theories have been developed to predict the interfacial arrangements of counterions, direct experimental observations and validations have remained elusive. Utilizing cryo-electron microscopy, here we directly visualize individual counterions and reveal their discrete interfacial layering.

Brain imaging can predict neurodevelopmental outcome of Group B streptococcal meningitis in neonates.

Aim: The association between cranial ultrasound (CUS) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) lesions and neonatal Group B streptococcal (GBS) meningitis outcome has not been studied in detail.

Methods: This retrospective study assessed CUS, cranial MRI and neurodevelopmental outcome in 50 neonates with GBS meningitis admitted to three neonatal intensive care units in the Netherlands between 1992 and 2014. Death, cognitive outcome and motor outcome below -1 SD were considered as adverse outcomes.

Quiescent Volcano-Chest Wall Hemangioma.

Chest wall hemangiomas are rare tumors that may originate within the soft tissue or from the ribs. Intramuscular hemangioma is infrequent, representing less than 1 % of all hemangiomas, and the localization in the chest wall is even less frequent. They are typically cutaneous in location, large, and poorly circumscribed and can be locally destructive.

Subcutaneous mycoses in coastal Karnataka in south India.

Background: Subcutaneous mycoses are chronic, localized infections of the skin and subcutaneous tissue which occur following traumatic implantation of the etiological agent. The causative organisms are soil saprophytes of regional epidemiology with varying ability to adapt to the tissue environment and elicit disease.

Objectives: This study was conducted to evaluate the various types of subcutaneous mycoses, including actinomycotic mycetomas, in south coastal Karnataka, India.
