Introduction: Off-pump coronary artery bypass graft surgery (OPCAB) has been suggested as superior to on-pump coronary artery bypass graft surgery (ONCAB) in certain high-risk subgroups, but its benefit in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) remains controversial. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate OPCAB versus ONCAB outcomes in COPD patients.
Methods: We followed PRISMA guidelines and searched PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library in August 2024 for studies comparing OPCAB and ONCAB in COPD patients.
One possible approach to selecting chicks based on quality involves identifying biomarkers in biological samples. Concurrently, understanding the metabolic profile of chicks from different-aged breeders is essential for developing strategies to mitigate the age-related effects on hatchability. This study investigated whether chick quality and breeder age influence the metabolic profile of layer chick meconium.

The London Protocol and Classification were developed to standardize anorectal motility patterns classification. This proof-of-concept study aims to develop and validate an artificial intelligence model for identification and differentiation of disorders of anal tone and contractility in HR-ARM.

Methods: We developed a novel model to quantify liver fat content without tissue processing.
Objective: to comparatively analyze the health, education and social development systems of Brazil and Portugal, their relationship with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development averages.

Arbovirus surveillance in marmosets (Callithrix spp.) that live close to humans helps identify viral circulation in the environment and contributes to public health. We investigated the exposure to arboviral infections in 47 captive and free-living Callithrix from urban and peri-urban areas in the semiarid region of northeastern Brazil (SNB) in 2018.

The literature indicates that inflammatory cells at the advancing front of the tumor induce a host immune response, preventing the spread of the tumor. However, cancer cells adopt various continued strategies to circumvent this immune surveillance.

Methods: This retrospective study included 117 cases of suspected OLP submitted for biopsy. Investigated variables comprised sociodemographic profiles, medical history, harmful habits, clinical characteristics, and histopathological features.
A meticulous examination of the oral cavity is an essential part of the initial newborn assessment. The differential diagnosis can involve benign and self-limiting lesions to those lesions compromising quality of life. We present a clinical case of a newborn born with a purple, hard tumour on the hard palate that spontaneously regressed, being thus compatible with the case of a sucking blister.
