The mpox outbreak of 2022-2023 represented a new global health challenge and recognition of mpox as a sexually transmitted disease. The majority of cases were reported in men who have sex with men (MSM), but women are also susceptible, especially during pregnancy. We evaluated the reproductive tracts of a subset of macaques from a large rechallenge study of mpox infection with virus from the 2022 outbreak and identified intraabdominal mpox replication associated with endometriosis.

For this reason, testing of a safe and efficacious ZIKV vaccine remains a global health priority. Here we report that a single immunization with Ad26.

However, it has remained largely unclear whether NK cell mobilization in SARS-CoV-2 infections is beneficial or pathologic. To address this deficit, we employed a validated experimental NK cell depletion non-human primate (NHP) model with SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant B.

Neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages recruited to pathogen-infected lungs, including SARS-CoV-2-infected lungs, express phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase gamma (PI3Kγ), a signaling protein that coordinates both granulocyte and monocyte trafficking to diseased tissues and immune-suppressive, profibrotic transcription in myeloid cells. PI3Kγ deletion and inhibition with the clinical PI3Kγ inhibitor eganelisib promoted survival in models of infectious diseases, including SARS-CoV-2 and MRSA, by suppressing inflammation, vascular leak, organ damage, and cytokine storm.

Patients And Methods: The 'Vaccinoscopie' internet survey is completed each year by mothers of adolescents, with questions about vaccinations received by their children, and their attitudes and barriers to vaccination. The 2012 to 2021 surveys were analyzed in this study, including data from 1500 adolescents in 2012 and 1000 adolescents each year from 2013 to 2021.
Background: The continual increase in patient attendance at the emergency department (ED) is a worldwide health issue. The aim of this study was to determine whether the use of a secondary prioritization software reduces the patients' median length of stay (LOS) in the pediatric ED.
Methods: A randomized, controlled, open-label trial was conducted over a 30-day period between March 15th and April 23rd 2021 at Lille University Hospital.
The 2023 annual Division of Translational Toxicology (DTT) Satellite Symposium, entitled "Pathology Potpourri," was held in Summerlin, Nevada, at the Society of Toxicologic Pathology's 41st annual meeting. The goal of this symposium was to present and discuss challenging diagnostic pathology and/or nomenclature issues. This article presents summaries of the speakers' talks along with select images that were used by the audience for voting and discussion.

We infected 18 rhesus macaques with mpox by the intravenous, intradermal, and intrarectal routes and observed robust antibody and T cell responses following all three routes of infection. Numerous skin lesions and high plasma viral loads were observed following intravenous and intradermal infection.

Preclinical studies of next-generation TB vaccines typically use a murine aerosol model with a supraphysiologic challenge dose. Here, we show that the protective efficacy of a live attenuated (Mtb) vaccine ΔLprG markedly exceeds that of BCG in a low-dose murine aerosol challenge model.

The objective of this study was to give an overview of pediatric private practice in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region and to describe the main challenges encountered.
Methods: For this descriptive observational survey, private practice pediatricians in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region filled out an online questionnaire between April 2019 and October 2020.
Despite the availability of several effective SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, additional vaccines will be required for optimal global vaccination. In this study, we investigate the immunogenicity and protective efficacy of the GBP510 protein subunit vaccine adjuvanted with AS03, which has recently been authorized for marketing in South Korea under the trade name SKYCovione. The antigen in GBP510/AS03 is a two-part recombinant nanoparticle, which displays 60 receptor binding domain (RBD) proteins of SARS-CoV-2 Spike on its surface.

Context: There is a general health decline among farmers and the leading cause of death in this population remains cardiovascular (CV) diseases. The situation is similar in the Guianese general population, with a preoccupying increase in CV diseases. However, there are no data on farmers' health.

The inflammatory and cell death responses to TNF have been studied extensively downstream of TNF-R1 and are believed to rely on the formation of proinflammatory complex I and prodeath complex II, respectively. We recently identified a similar multimeric complex downstream of TLR4, termed the TRIFosome, that regulates inflammation and cell death in response to LPS or .

However, no comprehensive evaluation of changes has been published to date. The objective of the present study was to determine the precise impact of the 2020 lockdown on admissions to a pediatric emergency department (PED) compared to the same periods in 2018 and 2019.

The Syrian hamster model is a tractable small animal model for COVID-19 that models clinical disease in humans. Using the hamster model, the authors used traditional pathologic assessment with quantitative image analysis to assess disease outcomes in hamsters administered polyclonal immune sera from previously challenged rhesus macaques.

Many countries with a high perinatal level have started a policy of vaccination of pregnant women against pertussis. To date, France has not chosen this policy. The objective was to review knowledge on pertussis mortality in infants.

Recent studies have shown that SARS-CoV-2 infection stimulates type I interferon, myeloid, and inflammatory signatures similar to human disease and that weight loss can be prevented with vaccines. However, the impact of vaccination on transcriptional programs associated with COVID-19 pathogenesis and protective adaptive immune responses is unknown.
