Background And Purpose: Knowledge about the prevalence of atrial fibrillation (AF) in young stroke patients, as well as its associated factors and outcomes, is scarce. Our objective was to analyse it.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of the Spain Nationwide Minimum Basic Data Set (MBDS) (2016-2020), including ischaemic stroke (IS) patients aged 18 and 50 years, was conducted.
Background: LAMVYX was a multicenter, single-arm, phase 2 trial designed to validate the safety and efficacy of CPX-351 in patients aged 60-75 years with newly diagnosed, secondary acute myeloid leukemia and to generate evidence on key issues not addressed in the preceding regulatory pivotal trial.
Methods: The primary end point of the study was the complete remission (CR)/CR with incomplete hematologic recovery (CRi) rate after induction. Eligible patients were recommended to undergo allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation after the first consolidation cycle.

Research on the benefits of non-invasive brain stimulation in stroke patients to improve executive functions is scarce. The objective of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in combination with cognitive training for the rehabilitation of executive functions in acute and subacute stroke patients as well as to explore the underlying physiological mechanisms. A triple-blinded, randomized-controlled clinical trial will be conducted involving 60 stroke patients with frontal or basal ganglia lesions and a Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score less than 26.

FLT3-ITD and NPM1 mutations are key to defining the genetic risk profile of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We aimed to assess the prognostic features of the FLT3-ITD and NPM1 mutations in old and/or unfit individuals with AML treated with non-intensive therapies in the era before azacitidine-venetoclax approbation. The results of various non-intensive regimens were also compared.

This study aimed to examine the clinical utility and prognostic value of TCD flow findings in patients enrolled in a multicenter prospective study (CLOTBUST-PRO).
Methods: Patients enrolled with intracranial occlusion on computed tomography angiography (CTA) who underwent urgent TCD evaluation before intravenous thrombolysis was included in this analysis.
Our aim was to compare the stroke outcomes of a direct transfer (DT) to a thrombectomy-capable center vs. initial care at two local stroke centers: a nearby hospital (NH, 36 km) and a distant hospital (DH, 113 km). Patients who underwent a mechanical thrombectomy were analyzed (February 2017-October 2021), and the outcome was considered favorable if the modified Rankin scale (mRS) score was ≤ 2 at three months.

It includes 7 items: ≥ 65 years, bronchopathy, thyroid disease, cortical location of stroke, intracranial large vessel occlusion, NT-ProBNP ≥250 pg/mL, and left atrial enlargement. In the internal validation, a good performance was obtained, with an = 0.

Recently, non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) has emerged as a promising treatment option for improving stroke recovery. In this context, animal models are needed to improve the therapeutic use of NIBS after stroke.

Extracranial carotid mural lesions (CML), caused by atherosclerosis or dissection, are frequently observed in acute internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion, often requiring angioplasty or stenting. This study aimed to assess the diagnostic accuracy of computed tomography angiography (CTA) in differentiating extracranial CML from thromboembolic etiology in acute ICA occlusion in patients eligible for endovascular treatment. Two neuroradiologists retrospectively studied patients with apparent extracranial ICA occlusion on CTA.

This study aimed to estimate the in-hospital incidence of IS and associated comorbidities by sex and age group in Spain.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of the Spain Nationwide Inpatient Sample database from 2016 to 2019 was conducted, which included adult patients with IS.
Treatment options for patients with secondary acute myeloid leukemia (sAML) and AML with myeloid-related changes (AMLMRC) aged 60 to 75 years are scarce and unsuitable. A pivotal trial showed that CPX-351 improved complete remission with/without incomplete recovery (CR/CRi) and overall survival (OS) as compared with standard "3+7" regimens. We retrospectively analyze outcomes of 765 patients with sAML and AML-MRC aged 60 to 75 years treated with intensive chemotherapy, reported to the PETHEMA registry before CPX-351 became available.

Knowledge of its association with systemic and neurological in-hospital complications is scarce. Our objective is to analyze this.

In total, 300 patients were included (41.3% dMT and 58.

In addition, several treatments have been described as possible adjuvants in VP. This study aims to update and analyze the different treatments and their efficacy in VP.

An impairment in this process may be linked to several psychopathological disorders, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), substance abuse disorder (SUD) or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which could make it a good candidate for being consider a transdiagnostic domain. Resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC) has been proposed as a promising biomarker of decision-making.

In this context, the PETHEMA cooperative group has established the first nationwide diagnostic network of seven reference laboratories to provide standardized NGS studies for AML patients. Cross-validation (CV) rounds are regularly performed to ensure the quality of NGS studies and to keep updated clinically relevant genes recommended for NGS study.
