This study aimed to assess the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and bioaccessibility of ethanolic extracts using pressurized liquid extraction with varying ethanol concentrations (0%, 30%, 50%, 70%, and 100%) in water-ethanol mixtures. Quercetin derivatives and neochlorogenic acid were identified as major compounds via high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection. The 70% ethanol extract displayed the highest antioxidant activity and phenolic content, highlighting a strong correlation between phenolics and antioxidant potential.

Background And Objectives: Fibrosis contributes to 45% of deaths in industrialized nations and is characterized by an abnormal accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM). There are no specific anti-fibrotic treatments for liver fibrosis, and previous unsuccessful attempts at drug development have focused on preventing ECM deposition. In this work, commercially available Polymethyl-meta-acrylate (PMMA) spectroscopy cells were modified on the external walls with films of TiO, TiO or TiO/TiO mixtures. Film characterization was carried out using SEM and UV-vis spectroscopy. The results of photocatalytic (PC), electro-oxidation (EO), and photoelectrochemical (PEC) experiments on the decolorization of a methyl orange (MO) model dye solution showed that while anatase provides better photocatalytic properties and the partially reduced TiO larger electronic conductivity, the TiO/TiO composite film behaves as a semiconductor substrate that combines the advantages of both materials (for PEC experiments for instance, decolorization values for the model dye solution using TiO, TiO and a TiO/TiO mixed film, corresponded to 35%, 46% and 53%, respectively).
