RNA-seq technology has been widely used for the characterization of the transcriptome profile induced by several diseases in both humans and animals. In the present study, RNA-seq was used to identify the differential expression of genes associated with the immune response in cattle infected with two different strains of , both derived from the same Mexican field isolate, which exhibit distinct phenotypic characteristics: the virulent strain, capable of producing acute clinical signs, and the attenuated strain, capable of stimulating a protective immune response when used as an immunogen with an efficacy greater than 80%. The differential gene expression analysis performed revealed a total of 620 differentially expressed genes (DEGs).

A data-driven statistical method is used to mitigate the large uncorrelated background in central Pb-Pb collisions.

Measurements of K^{+}K^{-} photoproduction probe the couplings between the ϕ(1020) and charged kaons with photons and nuclear targets. The kaon-proton scattering occurs at energies far above those available elsewhere.

A significant signal was observed for the first time at LHC energies down to zero transverse momentum, at forward rapidity (2.

Background: In Cuba, there is neither a registry of ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI), nor are analysis of performance measures widely reported.
Objective: A review of Cuban studies of patients with STEMI was carried out to describe quality of medical care.
Methods: Cochrane Library, EMBASE, PubMed, Scopus and SciELO, as well as archives of national journals, were all searched for articles on STEMI in Cuba, from 2000 to March 2020.
The terminology surrounding the clinical syndrome characterized by acute mucositis with minimal skin involvement has been a subject of debate over time. In recent years, terms such as mycoplasma-induced rash and mucositis and reactive infectious mucocutaneous eruption (RIME) have been introduced to encompass milder mucocutaneous diseases associated with respiratory infections, with implications for management and prognosis. We report the first case of recurrent RIME associated with Chlamydophila pneumoniae infection in an adult patient.

The _{Λ}^{3}H is reconstructed via its charged two-body mesonic decay channel (_{Λ}^{3}H→^{3}He+π^{-} and the charge-conjugate process).

The federal Teen Pregnancy Prevention program (TPP) funds the evaluation of promising interventions. We report on a funding disruption to 21 TPP Tier 2B research grantees across the US that was unusual for its ideological causation, sudden timing, severity, and ultimately court decisions compelling the agency to reverse the decision.

It has a worldwide distribution and is associated with the presence of the brown dog tick. Few studies have been conducted in Mexico to identify and characterize genetic variability.

In this measurement, the direction of the leading particle with the highest p_{T} in the event (p_{T}^{lead}>5 GeV/c) is used as an approximation for the jet axis. The event is consequently divided into three azimuthal regions, and the jet signal is obtained as the difference between the toward region, that contains jet fragmentation products in addition to the underlying event (UE), and the transverse region, which is dominated by the UE.

While government health entities rushed to develop COVID-19 prevention educational materials in Spanish, these failed to recognize the unique motivators and barriers that move different Latino audience segments to act. We conducted five online focus groups with two different Latino audience segments, general Latino people, and Latino migrant workers, to assess their experience navigating the pandemic, their engagement in preventive behavior, and their consumption of health news.

In this study, we worked with nine parenting current and former foster youth to share their experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic through photography. Data were collected between January and March 2021 during a series of three virtual PhotoVoice sessions, then transcripts of PhotoVoice sessions and participant-selected captioned photographs were analyzed using thematic analysis.

We tested the efficacy of Crush, a mobile application aimed at improving sexual health by promoting the use of SRH services and contraception among female adolescents.
Methods: We recruited 1,210 women aged 14-18 years through social media advertising and randomized them into a Crush intervention group and a control group that received a wellness app.
