Unlocking the potential of broadly reactive coronavirus monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and their derivatives offers a transformative therapeutic avenue against severe COVID-19, especially crucial for safeguarding high-risk populations. Novel mAb-based immunotherapies may help address the reduced efficacy of current vaccines and neutralizing mAbs caused by the emergence of variants of concern (VOCs). Using phage display technology, we discovered a pan-SARS-CoV-2 mAb (C10) that targets a conserved region within the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the virus.

These injuries can range from intimal flaps with no compromise of the distal perfusion to a complete occlusion or transection requiring emergent vascular intervention. Several diagnostic tests, including the measurement of the ankle-brachial index (ABI), conventional angiography, and computed tomography angiography (CTA), are commonly used as diagnostic tools to identify vascular injuries in the context of a multiligament knee injury.

While FDG-PET is currently the primary method for molecular imaging of myocardial inflammation, its effectiveness is hindered by physiological myocardial uptake as well as its propensity for uptake by multiple disease-specific mechanisms. Novel radiotracers targeting diverse inflammatory immune cells and molecular pathways may provide unique insight through the visualization of underlying mechanisms central to the pathogenesis of inflammatory cardiac diseases, offering opportunities for increased understanding of immunocardiology.

We wanted to explore naive antibody repertoires displayed on filamentous phages as a source of full-length antibodies for IHC on Formalin-Fixed and Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) tissues. We used two isogenic mouse fibroblast cell lines that express or not human HER2 to generate positive and negative FFPE pseudo-tissue respectively.

Nevertheless, when autologous or allogenic NK cells are used alone, the clinical benefit has been disappointing. This is partially due to the lack of target specificity.

The Kinect V2 has been identified as a portable and reliable alternative but was replaced by the Azure Kinect. We hypothesize that the Azure Kinect will assess drop vertical jump (DVJ) parameters associated with ACL injury risk with similar accuracy to its predecessor, the Kinect V2.

We assessed whether an artificial intelligence (AI) tool could help in writing letters of recommendation by analyzing recommendation letters written by 3 academic staff and AI duplicate versions for 13 applicants. The preferred letters were selected by 3 blinded orthopedic program directors based on a pre-determined set of criteria.

Methods: We captured 254 varsity athletes, using the Kinect V2 and a smartphone application utilizing Google's MediaPipe framework. The devices were placed as close as possible and used to capture a person, facing the cameras, performing one of three athletic stress tests at a distance of 2.

Knee kinematics during a drop vertical jump, measured by the Kinect V2 (Microsoft, Redmond, WA, USA), have been shown to be associated with an increased risk of non-contact anterior cruciate ligament injury. The accuracy and reliability of the Microsoft Kinect V2 has yet to be assessed specifically for tracking the coronal and sagittal knee angles of the drop vertical jump. Eleven participants performed three drop vertical jumps that were recorded using both the Kinect V2 and a gold standard motion analysis system (Vicon, Los Angeles, CA, USA).

Lutetium-177 (Lu)-PSMA-617 is the first radioligand therapy to be approved in Canada for use in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). As this treatment represents a new therapeutic class, guidance regarding how to integrate it into clinical practice is needed.

Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) hold promise in accurately identifying tumor locations and boundaries in PET scans. However, a major hurdle is the extensive amount of supervised and annotated data necessary for training.

Tissue engineering aims to bridge these gaps through the use of bioactive implants. However, there is often a risk of infection and biofilm formation associated with orthopedic implants, which may develop anti-microbial resistance.

The purpose of this study was to retrospectively evaluate patients with torn ACLs before and after reconstruction via 3D MRI and thereby assess the accuracy of graft position on the femoral condyle.
Methods: Forty-one patients with unilateral ACL tears were recruited.
Background And Purpose: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) has poorer outcomes than other breast cancers (BC), including HER2 BC. Cathepsin D (CathD) is a poor prognosis marker overproduced by BC cells, hypersecreted in the tumour microenvironment with tumour-promoting activity. Here, we characterized the immunomodulatory activity of the anti-CathD antibody F1 and its improved Fab-aglycosylated version (F1M1) in immunocompetent mouse models of TNBC (C57BL/6 mice harbouring E0771 cell grafts) and HER2-amplified BC (BALB/c mice harbouring TUBO cell grafts).

In this study, 10 different machine learning models are evaluated for their ability to predict the daily Tmax anomalies 10 days ahead in the months of March-June. Several model experiments were carried out to identify an optimal model to predict daily Tmax anomalies over India.

Methods: Data from 5959 individuals were used to derive (N = 4018) and validate (N = 1941) a binomial logistic regression model to predict normal stress MPI studies (stress total perfusion deficit < 4%, ejection fraction ≥ 50%). Model performance was analyzed using receiver operator characteristic curves.
Background: Radiolabeled-antibodies usually display non-specific liver accumulation that may impair image analysis and antibody biodistribution. Here, we investigated whether Fc silencing influenced antibody biodistribution. We compared recombinant Zr-labeled antibodies (human IgG1 against different targets) with wild-type Fc and with mutated Fc (LALAPG triple mutation to prevent binding to Fc gamma receptors; FcγR).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe treatment of Achilles tendon rupture has recently seen a shift toward non-operative management, as supported by the literature, yet many surgeons continue to treat these injuries operatively. The evidence clearly supports non-operative management of these injuries except for Achilles insertional tears and for certain patient groups, such as athletic patients, for whom further research is warranted. This nonadherence to evidence-based treatment may be explained by patient preference, surgeon subspecialty, surgeon era of practice or other variables.
