Background: Pasteurella multocida can cause serious soft tissue infections and, less commonly, septic arthritis, osteomyelitis, and sepsis especially in immunocompromised hosts. Therefore different bactericide or bacteriostatic implant coatings have been developed recently to control local intramedullary infections.
