Objective: An anteromedial corridor via an expanded endoscopic endonasal approach to the Meckel cave (MC) was described more than a decade ago. However, few clinical series or endoscopic endonasal technical contributions exist concerning this type of approach to this complex region.
Methods: We present a detailed description of the surgical technique for this approach reviewing the original technique and adding clarifying conceptual notions.
The increasing complexity and need of high-tech materials for modern electronics raise the demand for rare earth elements. While recycling rates are still negligible for most elements, geopolitical tensions, circular economy, and the aim for a carbon-neutral society put pressure on conventional supply strategies and emphasize the need for new ideas for recycling. Our research group works on the development of phage surface display (PSD)-derived peptide-based recycling methods for electronic waste.

We investigated the interaction of the gallium-binding peptides TMHHAAIAHPPH, NYLPHQSSSPSR, SQALSTSRQDLR, HTQHIQSDDHLA, and NDLQRHRLTAGP with gallium and arsenic through different experimental and computational approaches. Data obtained from isothermal titration microcalorimetry indicated a competitive influence by the presence of acetate ions with an exothermic contribution to the otherwise endothermic peptide gallium interactions.

Introduction: Giant prolactinomas (tumor size larger than 40mm) are a rare entity of benign nature. Prolactinomas larger than 60mm are usually underrepresented in published studies and their clinical presentation, outcomes and management might be different from smaller giant prolactinomas.
Patients And Methods: We retrospective collected data from patients with prolactinomas larger than 60mm in maximum diameter and prolactin (PRL) serum levels higher than 21,200μIU/mL in our series of prolactinomas (283).

Background: Transsphenoidal surgery for sellar lesions may affect patency and function of the nasal airways, smell and sinonasal quality of life. Below is our report on otorhinolaryngological data garnered from patients undergoing endonasal transsphenoidal pituitary microsurgery.
Methods: In a prospective study, 68 patients scheduled for transsphenoidal operations (32 female, 36 male, age 17-72 years) underwent otorhinolaryngological evaluation of their nasal morphology, a standardized smell test (sniffin' sticks) and rhinomanometry to analyse nasal breathing function preoperatively, 3-5 days postoperatively (without rhinomanometry), after 3-4 months and after 9 months.
Objective: Thyrotropin (TSH)-secreting pituitary tumors are rare and typically present with hyperthyroidism. Here we report the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical outcomes in a series of patients with TSH-secreting pituitary tumors in a tertiary referral center.
Methods: Descriptive retrospective study that included all patients with TSH-secreting pituitary tumors who underwent transsphenoidal surgery in the endocrinology and nutrition unit of the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital (Seville, Spain) between 2004 and 2016.
In an open, prospective study, we embolised intracranial meningiomas in seven patients, without subsequent surgery. Follow-up over a mean of 20 months included serial neurological examination, MRI and MR spectroscopy. Clinically, embolisation had no adverse effects.

In both patients there was a marked reduction in tumor size and a decrease in contrast enhancement associated with spectroscopic signs of fatty degeneration. We did not observe regrowth; however, in one patient with incomplete angiographic devascularization, residual vital tumor tissue was seen at follow-up examinations.
