Preclinical and genetic studies suggest that impaired glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIPR) signaling worsens glycemic control. The relationship between GIPR signaling and the risk of cancers influenced by impaired glucose homeostasis is unclear. We examined the association of a variant in , rs1800437 (E354Q), shown to impair long-term GIPR signaling and lower circulating glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide concentrations, with risk of 6 cancers influenced by impaired glucose homeostasis (breast, colorectal, endometrial, lung, pancreatic, and renal) in up to 235,698 cases and 333,932 controls.

Herein, we present a novel C(sp)-C(sp) bond-forming protocol via the reductive coupling of abundant tertiary amides with organozinc reagents prepared from their corresponding alkyl halides. Using a multistep fully automated flow protocol, this reaction could be used for both library synthesis and target molecule synthesis on the gram-scale starting from bench-stable reagents. Additionally, excellent chemoselectivity and functional group tolerance make it ideal for late-stage diversification of druglike molecules.

Background: The Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) has not been fully evaluated for outcomes assessment after hip arthroscopy to correct femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS).

Purpose/hypothesis: The purpose of this study was to compare the accuracy of the PROMIS Physical Function (PF) and Pain Interference (PI) subscales with the 12-Item International Hip Outcome Tool (iHOT-12) to define patients with 3 unique substantial clinical benefit (SCB) scores-patients who reported ≥80%, ≥90%, and 100% satisfaction at 1 year after hip arthroscopy for FAIS. Herein, we describe the development of a copper-catalyzed C(sp) amination of unactivated secondary alkyl iodides mediated by diaryliodonium salts. Our protocol is enabled by the intermediacy of aryl radical species that undergo halogen atom transfer prior to interfacing with copper catalysts, thus setting the basis for a C-N bond formation at sp-hybridized carbons. Imaging spectroscopy has the potential to map closely related plant taxa at landscape scales. Although spectral investigations at the leaf and canopy levels have revealed relationships between phylogeny and reflectance, understanding how spectra differ across, and are inherited from, genotypes of a single species has received less attention. Although Black girls use substances at lower rates than boys and girls from various other racial groups, they tend to have worse health outcomes associated with substance use that can also impact their sexual health. The association between substance use and sexual risk behaviors is usually attributed to lack of access to quality health care and lack of culturally specific prevention programming and treatment options tailored to this group. Accordingly, the theoretical frameworks for health promotion for Black girls often focus on addressing deficits, ignoring the powerful and intersecting social forces that can impact identity, agency, and behavioral options.
