Background: Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) in non-calcified aortic regurgitation (NCAR) is an off-label procedure. The balloon-expandable Myval includes extra-large sizes (30.5 mm and 32 mm) of interest in this setting.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFollicular lymphoma (FL) is an indolent but largely incurable disease. Some patients suffer histological transformation to a more aggressive subtype with poorer prognosis. This study aimed to improve our understanding of the genetics underlying FL histological transformation, and to identify genetic drivers or promoters of the transformation by elucidating the differences between FL samples from patients who did and did not transform.

Purpose: To measure the distribution of tissue sodium concentration (TSC), proton T -weighted signal, and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values in human PCa and to test the presence of a correlation between regional differences in imaging metrics and the Gleason grade of lesions determined from histopathology.
Many studies have demonstrated that the endocannabinoid system (ECS) is altered in different tumor types, including colon cancer. However, little is known about the role of the ECS in tumor progression. Here we report the correlation between CB 2 expression and pathological data in a series of 175 colorectal cancer patients, as well as the response of the HT29 colon cancer-derived cell line upon CB 2 activation.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFT-cell differentiation involves the early decision to commit to a particular pattern of response to an antigen. Here, we show that the leukocyte activation antigen CD69 limits differentiation into proinflammatory helper T cells (Th17 cells). Upon antigen stimulation in vitro, CD4(+) T cells from CD69-deficient mice generate an expansion of Th17 cells and the induction of greater mRNA expression of interleukin 17 (IL-17), IL 23 receptor (IL-23R), and the nuclear receptor retinoic acid-related orphan receptor γt (RORγt).

The development of these diseases is influenced by exposure to allergen and to immunological and genetic factors. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the inflammatory response that triggers allergy are not well defined.

The aim of the present study was to compare the capability of different cells isolated from a series of 23 colon cancer patients to repair the damage induced by a cancer drug.
Experimental Design: We adapted the in vitro comet repair assay for nucleotide excision repair to measure the ability of lymphocytes and normal and tumor epithelial colon cells to remove DNA cross-links induced by oxaliplatin.
Background: The electronic Schizophrenia Treatment Adherence Registry (e-STAR) is a prospective, observational study of patients with schizophrenia designed to evaluate long-term treatment outcomes in routine clinical practice.
Methods: Parameters were assessed at baseline and at 3 month intervals for 2 years in patients initiated on risperidone long-acting injection (RLAI) (n=1345) or a new oral antipsychotic (AP) (n=277; 35.7% and 36.
Introduction: Nowadays, it is much more common in end stage renal disease patients with vascular grafts, to be kidney transplant candidates. We expose our experience in five cases.
Material And Methods: Of all 1,483 kidneys transplanted in our center, 5 recipients had a previous aortobifemoral bypass (2 due to abdominal aortic aneurysm, and 3 due to vascular occlusive disease).
