Use of Virtual Reality and Three-Dimensional Printing in the Surgical Planning of Slide Tracheoplasty.

To describe our experience using virtual reality (VR) and three-dimensional (3D) printing as complements for the surgical planning process of slide tracheoplasty (ST) in patients with congenital tracheal stenosis (CTS). VR and 3D printing are used for the surgical planning of ST as a therapeutic option in three female patients under five years of age with CTS. We assessed the planned surgical procedure, procedural time, postoperative complications, and outcomes, as well as the main surgeon's experience with the use of the applied technologies.

High-Grade Left Atrial Pleomorphic Sarcoma: Case Report and Review.

Primary pleomorphic sarcoma of the left atrium is a rare tumor. There is no actual evidence of the management of this pathological entity, so the main treatment is individualized, surgical management being the cornerstone of the treatment. We present a 78-year-old female who had a clinical picture of heart failure, documenting an atrial mass of the left atrium, with high-grade pleomorphic sarcoma revealed in histopathology.

Infracardiac type total anomalous pulmonary venous return with obstruction and dilatation of portal vein.

Total anomalous pulmonary venous return (TAPVR), also known as total anomalous pulmonary venous connection, is a congenital cardiovascular malformation that presents itself in the neonatal period, with cyanosis and tachypnea. There are 4 types of TAPVR with the mixed type being the least common. Any type of TAPVR may be associated with obstruction as result of flow redirection through the liver parenchyma before it may return to the heart, but infracardiac is the most common one.
