Montanoa tomentosa (zoapatle) is a Central American plant used in Mexico in traditional herbal medicine to ease childbirth labor and to cure certain female disorders. Recently, crude extracts of M. tomentosa have been reported to have an aphrodisiacal effect on male rats.
