Hemorrhage of the adrenal glands in the neonatal period happens secondarily to birth trauma and to changes in venous pressure. Neonatal jaundice has as an infrequent etiology the presence of an adrenal gland hematoma. Symptomatic cases are rare, and if they manifest, it is usually as prolonged jaundice.
