Purpose: To describe a rare case of acquired enophthalmos in a patient with idiopathic orbital inflammatory disease after treatment with systemic corticosteroids.
Observations: Orbital socket contracture produces a non-traumatic enophthalmos and is most frequently reported as a consequence of orbital trauma or metastatic fibrosis. A previously healthy 64-year-old male presented with 3-month history of binocular diplopia and left proptosis, hypoglobus, supraduction deficit, and compressive neuropathy.
