[First donations and transplantations performed in Swedish kidney exchange program].

This article describes the Swedish kidney exchange program (STEP) and the first donations and transplantations that were performed in October 2018. A total of six parallel surgical procedures resulted in three kidney donations and three kidney transplantations. Two months after the operations, all recipients had good and stable kidney function and all donors had recovered.
