Background: Bone metastases (BoMs) are prevalent in patients with metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) however, there are limited data detailing how BoMs respond to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). The purpose of this study was to compare the imaging response to ICIs of BoMs against visceral metastases and to evaluate the effect of BoMs on survival.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective, multicentre cohort study was conducted in patients with NSCLC treated with nivolumab or pembrolizumab in Alberta, Canada from 2015 to 2020.
Background: Prediabetes has garnered increasing attention due to its association with cardiovascular conditions, especially hypertension, which heightens the risk of prefrailty and frailty among older individuals.
Methods: We screened elders with prefrail hypertension from March 2021 to January 2023. We assessed the correlation linking cognitive dysfunction (Montreal Cognitive Assessment score), insulin resistance (triglyceride-to-glucose index), and physical impairment (5-meter gait speed).
Aims: Pre-diabetes is a condition that confers an increased cardiovascular risk. Frailty is very common in hypertensive patients, and insulin resistance has been linked to frailty in older adults with diabetes. On these grounds, our aim was to evaluate the association between insulin resistance and cognitive impairment in hypertensive and pre-diabetic and frail older adults.

Background: Frailty is a multidimensional condition typical of elders. Frail older adults have a high risk of functional decline, hospitalization, and mortality. Hypertension is one of the most common comorbidities in elders.

Methods: We recruited frail hypertensive older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic, between March 2021 and December 2021.
Background: Diabetes and hypertension are common in older adults and represent established risk factors for frailty. Frailty is a multidimensional condition due to reserve loss and susceptibility to stressors with a high risk of death, hospitalizations, functional and cognitive impairment. Comorbidities such as diabetes and hypertension play a key role in increasing the risk of mortality, hospitalization, and disability.

Campania's strategy for digitalization of health and care and for healthy aging is based on a person-centered, life-course, "One Health" approach, where demographic change is considered capable of stimulating a growth dynamic linked to the opportunities of combining the "Silver Economy" with local assets and the specific health needs of the population. The end-users (citizens, patients, and professionals) contribute to the co-creation of products and services, being involved in the identification of unmet needs and test-bed activity.

To our knowledge, this is the first example of AT/RT involving the lateral ventricle in an adult. The patient presented with headache and confusion, and subsequently required emergent surgery.

Accurate identification and description of chest wall injuries by the radiologist can aid in guiding proper patient management. The American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) has devised a classification system based on severity.

Methods: This was a single-center retrospective study of all consecutive adult patients diagnosed with spondylolisthesis from January 1, 2013, to July 31, 2018, for whom the required imaging was available for analysis. Two independent observers measured the amount of translation, in millimeters, on supine MRI and flexion, extension, and neutral standing radiographs using the Meyerding technique.
Atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor in adults is a relatively rare malignant neoplasm. It is characterized by the presence of rhabdoid cells in combination with loss of either the INI1 or BRG1protein from the tumor cells. A systematic review was conducted using MEDLINE using the terms "atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor" AND "adult.

Objective: To determine the diagnostic and therapeutic impact of pelvic MRI in adnexal masses in children and adolescents.
Materials And Methods: We included 32 females age 18 years and younger who had adnexal masses and who underwent both pelvic ultrasound (US) and MRI.

The purpose of this article is to review recent innovations on the process and application of 3-dimensional (3D) printed objects from medical imaging data. Data for 3D printed medical models can be obtained from computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and ultrasound using the Data Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) software. The data images are processed using segmentation and mesh generation tools and converted to a standard tessellation language (STL) file for printing.

Materials & Methods: Organisms cultured on Sauton's medium into stationary phase were autoclaved in borate-buffered saline and stored at 10 mg wet weight/ml. Intradermal injections of 0.1 ml containing 1 mg of bacilli were administered on the first and 20th days of the study.
The results of an intercalibration exercise among the laboratories participating in the MED POL program for monitoring biological effects of pollutants along the Mediterranean coasts are presented. Three established biomarkers, i.e.

The exact cause of Alzheimer's disease and the part played in it by aluminum is still speculative. We have studied serum aluminum in 356 healthy people, and we have observed that serum aluminum concentration is increased in aging people in relation to age. We suggest that this could be associated with an enhanced gastric permeability or by an increase in metal accumulation proportional to age.

The experiment was carried out following a cross-over procedure: each patient received two 750 cc 10% glucose solution infusions, a week apart; to one of these infusions 6 g L-carnitine had been added. The glucose infusion significantly increased the plasma glucose concentration of both groups, however, analysis of variance demonstrated that the increase in Group B was inferior (p < 0.
