In this work, we report on the synthesis and properties of a new sensitizer for photodynamic therapy applications, constituted by a ruthenium(ii) complex (1) featuring a ligand inspired from natural isoquinoline alkaloids. The spectroscopic analysis revealed that 1 is characterized by an intense red emission ( = 620 nm, = 0.17) when excited at 550 nm, a low energy radiation warranting for a safe therapeutic approach.

The present review aims to discuss available evidence related to the use of [F]FDG PET (Positron Emission Tomography) to evaluate the response to target therapies and immune checkpoint inhibitors. Background: Depression screening in the cardiovascular disease (CVD) care setting is under-performed, also because the issue of the optimal screening tools cut-off is still open. We analysed which HADS (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale) total score cut-off value shows the best properties in two groups of 357 Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) and 260 Chronic Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) hospitalized patients.

Marine litter is any persistent, manufactured or processed solid material discarded, disposed of or abandoned in the marine and coastal environment. Ingestion of marine litter can have lethal and sub-lethal effects on wildlife that accidentally ingests it, and sea turtles are particularly susceptible to this threat. The European Commission drafted the 2008/56/EC Marine Strategy Framework Directive with the aim to achieve a Good Environmental Status (GES), and the loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta, Linnaeus 1758) was selected for monitoring the amount and composition of litter ingested by marine animals.
