Antimouse antibody is produced from 40 to 68% of the time after administration of Orthoclone OKT3. In patients treated with OKT3, however, if the concomitant immunosuppression is not decreased, the incidence of the antibody production is reduced to 40%. Similarly, 33% of patients developed antihorse antibody after the initial antithymocyte globulin (ATG) administration.

The development of monoclonal antibodies to human differentiation antigens and cytofluorographs have added a new dimension to immune monitoring. However, the technology is such that regionalization will most likely occur. We have demonstrated that human lymphocyte antigens OKT3, OKT4, OKT8 and OKT11 are stable in blood samples stored in ACD at room temperature for less than 72 h.
