Spatial transcriptomics (ST) is a powerful tool for understanding tissue biology and disease mechanisms. However, the advanced data analysis and programming skills required can hinder researchers from realizing of the full potential of ST. To address this, we developed spatialGE, a web application that simplifies the analysis of ST data.

The conflict has exacerbated mental health issues. This randomized controlled trial assessed a brief social-contact-based video intervention on a large sample of individuals living in conflict zones, aiming to examine its effects on increasing treatment-seeking intentions.

The purpose of this meta-analysis was to compare prevalence of genital lacerations (or tears) in persons reporting consensual versus non-consensual vaginal penetration. We hypothesized there would be greater prevalence of genital injuries in the non-consensual group.

More comprehensive understanding of the various factors that contribute to study dropout from cognitive-behavioural therapy with a trauma focus (CBT-TF) is crucial for enhancing treatment outcomes.
Objective: Using an individual participant data meta-analysis (IPD-MA) design, we examined participant-level predictors of study dropout from CBT-TF interventions for PTSD.
Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) and antidepressant medications are both first-line interventions for adult depression, but their relative efficacy in the long term and on outcome measures other than depressive symptomatology is unknown. Individual participant data (IPD) meta-analyses can provide more precise effect estimates than conventional meta-analyses. This IPD meta-analysis compared the efficacy of IPT and antidepressants on various outcomes at post-treatment and follow-up (PROSPERO: CRD42020219891).

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the relationship between the cervical levels fused and the degree of subsidence following anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) procedures.
Background: Subsidence following ACDF may worsen clinical outcomes.

Kratom (Mitragyna Speciosa Korth.) is an indigenous tree native to Southeast Asia whose leaves have been traditionally ingested as a tea and has seen its popularity increase in the United States. Although kratom and its constituents presently have no approved uses by the Food and Drug Administration, its major alkaloids (e.

The current diagnostic and monitoring procedure for EoE is endoscopy with biopsy, which is invasive, expensive, and leads to tissue tearing in patients. A biomarker in plasma would offer a much less invasive form of disease monitoring for patients with EoE.

At the same time, improved computational models are capable of reproducing behavior and neural activity with increasing fidelity. Unfortunately, these advances have drastically increased the complexity of integrating different lines of research, resulting in the missed opportunities and untapped potential of suboptimal experiments.

Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), a nonexposure, affect-focused treatment, has emerged over 2 decades as an alternative evidence-based PTSD intervention.

Background: Preoperative anxiety impacts pediatric surgical outcomes; therefore, it is important for healthcare providers to address and manage preoperative anxiety in pediatric patients to promote better outcomes and overall wellbeing. Providing patients with a preview of the care setting before the actual procedure can be highly beneficial in mitigating preoperative anxiety.
Purpose: Little is known about late and long-term patient-reported outcomes (PROs) of immune checkpoint modulators (ICMs) outside clinical trials. We conducted a cross-sectional, mixed-methods study to describe long-term PROs among advanced melanoma patients who began standard of care treatment with ICMs at least 1 year previously.
Methods: All participants completed the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Immune Checkpoint Modulator (FACT-ICM), assessing 46 immune-related side effects on a 5-point Likert scale, and a subset completed individual interviews.

This study compares the efficacy of two types of brief video interventions, targeting public and self-stigma, in reducing public stigma towards people living with psychosis. We hypothesized both interventions would similarly reduce public stigma and outperform the control group.

The current randomized controlled trial explored two additional factors which may enhance the efficacy of this intervention: income level, known to be associated with help-seeking, and emotional engagement, which may enhance a person's ability to engage with the intervention. We hypothesized that income level and emotional engagement would correlate with changes in openness to help-seeking ("openness") and stigma.

Here, we identify and resolve a fundamental inconsistency between striatal reinforcement learning models and known SPN synaptic plasticity rules. Direct-pathway (dSPN) and indirect-pathway (iSPN) neurons, which promote and suppress actions, respectively, exhibit synaptic plasticity that reinforces activity associated with elevated or suppressed dopamine release.

This randomized controlled study assessed the efficacy of a brief social contact-based video intervention in reducing self-stigma in a large sample of individuals ages 18-35 endorsing an ongoing mental health condition. We hypothesized that the brief video would reduce self-stigma.

We aim to examine whether PM uptake can be used as a marker of failed MS and measure the rate of PM activity presence in active CS with different dietary preparations.
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed PET/CTs obtained with three different dietary preparations.
Early positive subjective effects of cannabis predict the development of cannabis use disorder (CUD). Genetic factors, such as the presence of cytochrome P450 genetic variants that are associated with reduced Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) metabolism, may contribute to individual differences in subjective effects of cannabis. Young adults (N = 54) with CUD or a non-CUD substance use disorder (control) provided a blood sample for DNA analysis and self-reported their early (i.
