Background: Although intravenous antibiotics have historically been the standard of care for bone and joint infections, clinical trial data have highlighted the safety and efficacy of oral antibiotics. Despite this, intravenous antibiotics are still commonly used, and evaluations of institutional guidelines advancing oral antibiotic use are limited.
Methods: In April 2023, we implemented a new institutional guideline to preferentially treat patients with bone and joint infections with oral antibiotics.
In recent years there has been a shift in the long-term treatment of patients living with schizophrenia, the institutional focus being increasingly replaced by outpatient and community-based interventions. Relatives of patients with schizophrenia play a key role in treatment, greatly assisting the monitoring of patients' condition and facilitating their involvement in long-term care. The challenges associated with the varied symptoms of schizophrenia place an increased burden on family members, including psychological distress often accompanied by a deterioration in quality of life.

Analysis of liver biopsy samples revealed the presence of vector DNA at all points in the study (day 7, 28, and 56), with vector copy number declining approximately 10-fold between day 7 and day 56. In a review of control animals from 9 carcinogenicity studies, we found that approximately 23% of animals had granular cell alterations. Because estrogen may play a role in the pathogenesis of granular cell alterations, we reviewed tissue sections from carcinogenicity studies with 2 aromatase inhibitors and found compound-related decreases in the incidence of granular cell changes.
