Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have uncommon associations with cardiotoxicity, yet these cardiotoxic effects are associated with high mortality. An accurate assessment of risk for cardiotoxicity is essential for clinical decision-making, but data from randomized controlled trials often differ from real-world observational studies.

Methods And Results: A systematic search of PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Scopus was performed, including phase II and III randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies (OSs) reporting myocarditis or pericardial disease, myocardial infarction, or stroke with an immunotherapy.

Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is a non-conventional machining technique, capable of processing any kind of conductive material. Recently, it has been successfully utilized for producing hydrophobic characteristics in inherently hydrophilic metallic materials. In this work, Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) was utilized for producing hydrophobic characteristics on the surface of the aluminum alloy 6082, and various parameters that can affect wettability were investigated.

The spread of bacteria through contaminated surfaces is a major issue in healthcare, food industry, and other economic sectors. The widespread use of antibiotics is not a sustainable solution in the long term due to the development of antibiotic resistance. Therefore, surfaces with antibacterial properties have the potential to be a disruptive approach to combat microbial contamination.

Introduction: Human trafficking (HT) is a substantial public health problem, and health care workers are uniquely positioned to help identify and care for survivors. Despite this fact, few medical schools incorporate HT training using trauma-informed care (TIC) principles into their curricula. We developed a training session to educate medical students on recognizing HT red flags and providing TIC to HT survivors.

Background: Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) is one of the most frequent inflammatory disorders of the oral mucosa. Cytokines, which play an important role in RAS pathogenesis, participate directly or indirectly in normal, immunological and inflammatory processes and are secreted from cells belonging to innate and adaptive immunity as a consequence of microbial and antigenic stimuli. Gene polymorphisms in specific cytokines may predispose to RAS development.

As a non-conventional machining technology, EDM is used extensively in modern industry, particularly in machining difficult-to-cut materials. CALMAX is a chromium-molybdenum-vanadium tool steel with exceptional toughness, ductility, and wear resistance that has a wide range of applications. Despite the fact that EDM is routinely used in CALMAX machining, the related published research is brief and limited.

Abrasive processes are essential to the manufacturing field, due to their capability of rendering high-quality surfaces with minimum effect on workpiece integrity. As it is especially difficult to perform sufficient experimental work, numerical studies can be successfully employed to evaluate techniques for the improvement of the efficiency of nanometric abrasive processes. In the present study, for the first time, cases of nanogrinding on workpieces of three different fcc metals, namely, copper, nickel, and aluminum are investigated under different preheating temperatures, in order to determine the efficiency of the hot nano-grinding technique.

Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) is a serotonergic psychedelic compound receiving increasing interest due to putative anxiolytic and antidepressant properties. However, the potential neurobiological mechanisms mediating these effects remain elusive. Employing in vivo electrophysiology, microionthophoresis, behavioral paradigms and morphology assays, we assessed the impact of acute and chronic LSD administration on anxiety-like behavior, on the cortical dendritic spines and on the activity of serotonin (5-HT) neurons originating in the dorsal raphe nucleus (DRN) in male mice exposed to chronic restraint stress.

Recent clinical and preclinical evidence points towards empathogenic and prosocial effects elicited by psychedelic compounds, notably the serotonin 5-HT agonists lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), psilocybin, N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), and their derivatives. These findings suggest a therapeutic potential of psychedelic compounds for some of the behavioural traits associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by atypical social behaviour. In this review, we highlight evidence suggesting that psychedelics may potentially ameliorate some of the behavioural atypicalities of ASD, including reduced social behaviour and highly co-occurring anxiety and depression.

Clinical studies have reported that the psychedelic lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) enhances empathy and social behavior (SB) in humans, but its mechanism of action remains elusive. Using a multidisciplinary approach including in vivo electrophysiology, optogenetics, behavioral paradigms, and molecular biology, the effects of LSD on SB and glutamatergic neurotransmission in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) were studied in male mice. Acute LSD (30 μg/kg) injection failed to increase SB.

Grinding at the nanometric level can be efficiently employed for the creation of surfaces with ultrahigh precision by removing a few atomic layers from the substrate. However, since measurements at this level are rather difficult, numerical investigation can be conducted in order to reveal the mechanisms of material removal during nanogrinding. In the present study, a Molecular Dynamics model with multiple abrasive grains is developed in order to determine the effect of spacing between the adjacent rows of abrasive grains and the effect of the rake angle of the abrasive grains on the grinding forces and temperatures, ground surface, and chip formation and also, subsurface damage of the substrate.

The remarkable tribological attributes of the gecko feet have grown much interest in the field of biomimetic tribology over the past two decades. It has been shown that the complexity of friction and adhesion phenomena made it difficult to transfer these exceptional properties into fully functional smart, dry, micro patterned adhesives. The latter, combined with the relative lack of literature on computational oriented studies on these phenomena, is the motive of the current work.

In the current study, a new approach for surface modification and surface hardening of aluminum alloys is developed. The method is based on the logic of in-situ reinforcing FSP strategies. The novelty of the proposed process is the application of a bulk reinforcing metallic material instead of metallic powders.

Sir William Arbuthnot Lane (1856-1943) is considered a pioneer in orthopedic surgery, especially for his breakthrough for the time technique for bone and mainly femoral surgery, the so-called screw and plates technique, which was also accompanied by his aseptic surgical approach. Apart from his innovations in colon, nose, ear, throat, and reconstructive surgery, his treatises on orthopedic surgery were considered as masterpieces. Femoral anatomy and surgical anatomy attracted mainly his interest as seen in his treatises.

The multi-energy vibration processing, namely the combination of different energies or forces acting on a free abrasive medium for grinding of metal parts, is becoming more used in finishing processes, in recent years. However, the complexity that is involved in the aforementioned process requires a careful look in the particularities of the process itself in general and the movement of the abrasive media, in particular. In this paper, the nature of the collective movement of abrasive granules between the independently oscillating surfaces of the reservoir and the processed parts is described.

Research results on 3D modeling of the diamond grain and its bearing layer when sintering diamond grinding wheels are provided in this paper. The influence of the main characteristics of the wheel materials and the wheel production process, namely the quantity of metallic phase within diamond grain, coefficient of thermal expansion of the metallic phase, the modulus of elasticity of bond material and sintering temperature, on the internal stresses arising in grains is investigated. The results indicate that the stresses in the grains are higher in the areas around the metallic phase.
