Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a relatively common disorder seen in autism spectrum disorder across the lifespan. Many obsessive-compulsive disorder symptoms can present similarly to the core features of autism spectrum disorder and it is often difficult to differentiate between obsessive-compulsive disorder and stereotypic behaviors or restricted interests in autism spectrum disorder.
