Communication professionals in Federal agencies must have a seat at their agency's budget formulation table - to inform the budget process from the beginning and to advise on funding for the communications required to achieve program goals. This is one of nine lessons learned from US Department of Health and Human Services (USDHHS) systems change efforts that were applied to help create the "We Can Do This" COVID-19 Public Education Media Campaign (Campaign), and these lessons were presented in a 2022 article. Now that substantial evaluation data are available in eight recent research articles to verify the Campaign's success, this lesson can be revisited to identify more specific ways in which it can be applied, along with two additional lessons identified from the Campaign implementation.

In this work, we compare two structurally near-amorphous rigid-rod polymers─poly(indacenodithiophene--benzothiadiazole), p(IDT-BT), and poly(indacenodithiophene--benzopyrollodione), p(IDT-BPD)─with orders of magnitude different mobilities to understand the effect charge carrier intrachain delocalization has on electronic transport. Quantum chemical calculations show that p(IDT-BPD) has a barrier to torsion that is significantly lower than that of p(IDT-BT) and is thus more likely to have reduced conjugation lengths. We utilize absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy to characterize energetic disorder and show that p(IDT-BPD) has higher energetic disorder.

Objectives: Ethanol lock therapy (ELT) is a potential method of central catheter salvage following central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) although there is potential risk of catheter damage in polyurethane catheters. Further, there is limited efficacy data across the spectrum of common pediatric catheters, and published ELT protocols describe dwell times that are not feasible for critically ill children. We sought to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ELT in polyurethane catheters using brief (30 min to 2 hr) dwell times in our PICU.

Tunneled femorally inserted central catheters (FICCs) are frequently required for central access in children when upper extremity vessels cannot or should not be cannulated. A recently published decision tool for tunneled FICCs identifies the medial thigh as the preferred exit site. In pediatric patients, this medial exit site may remain at risk of contamination from stool due to anatomic size, and there are no tools developed for FICC exit site decisions specific to children.

Deficits in fast-spiking inhibitory interneurons (FSINs) within the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC) are hypothesized to underlie cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia. Though representing a minority of interneurons, this key cell type coordinates broad neural network gamma-frequency oscillations, associated with cognition and cognitive flexibility. Here we report expression of GluN2D mRNA selectively in parvalbumin positive cells of human postmortem dlPFC tissue, but not pyramidal neurons, with little to no GluN2C expression in either cell type.

Iron-based metal-organic frameworks (Fe-MOFs) have emerged as promising candidates for drug delivery applications due to their low toxicity, structural flexibility, and safe biodegradation in a physiological environment. Here, we studied two types of Fe-MOFs: MIL-53 and MIL-88B, for in vitro drug loading and releasing of ibuprofen as a model drug. Both Fe-MOFs are based on the same iron clusters and organic ligands but form different crystal structures as a result of two different nucleation pathways.
