There was a wide variation in the amounts of hemoglobin extracted from the muscle tissue of bled and unbled fish. Averaged values suggested that the residual blood level in the muscle of bled fish was substantial. Myoglobin content was minimal as compared to hemoglobin content in mackerel light muscle and trout whole muscle.

Adrenomedullin and an endopeptidase inhibitor (SCH32615) were administered separately and in combination in 8 sheep with heart failure. Compared with the control condition, SCH32615 (5 mg bolus+1 mg/kg per hour infusion for 3 hours) reduced arterial pressure, left atrial pressure, and peripheral resistance and increased cardiac output, urinary volume, sodium, creatinine, and cAMP excretion.

Levels of expression of adrenomedullin (AM) in the uterus have been reported to vary with the reproductive cycle. This study examines the relationships among uterine AM mRNA, the stage of the estrous cycle, and circulating estradiol and progesterone in cycling rats and in ovariectomized (OVX) rats without or with estrogen replacement (ER). Strong AM mRNA, AM immunoreactivity, and pro-AM NH2-terminal 20 peptide (PAMP) immunoreactivity were observed in endometrial stroma by use of in situ hybridization and immunocytochemistry.
