Chylopericardium and Superior Vena Cava Syndrome Caused by Central Venous Occlusion From Indwelling Hemodialysis Catheters.

Chylopericardium is a rare condition. Causes include superior vena cava syndrome resulting from indwelling catheters. We present a case of this condition in a 42-year-old man with end-stage renal disease treated with hemodialysis through a right subclavian vein catheter.

Acute Mitral Valve Regurgitation Presenting With Right Upper Lobe Opacification.

There is literature describing unilateral or focal pulmonary edema due to mitral regurgitation. The proposed mechanism is a regurgitant jet propelling blood towards the orifice of a particular pulmonary vein within the left atrium, which selectively pressurizes that vein. The increased hydrostatic pressure is transmitted to the pulmonary capillaries that drain into that vein, causing focal consolidation.
