Objectives: Being able to express and address strengths and needs related to health is an important asset to enhance resilience during emerging adulthood. Towards this end, we aimed to develop a specific version of the My Positive Health (MPH) dialogue tool for this developmental period (ages 16-25). By adopting a broad perspective on health and striving for applicability in various settings, this tool ultimately seeks to promote integrated collaboration across various domains (healthcare, social care, school).

Methods: A qualitative research design was used as part of a codesign process. Based on semi-structured interviews with both healthy children and children with a chronic condition (aged 8-18).
The definition of health has been shifting from disease absence to physical, emotional and social well-being. To demedicalise societal problems, the term Positive Health (PH) was introduced-a concept focused on the ability to adapt and to self-manage, in the face of physical, emotional and social challenges. The concept of PH receives broad attention, among others because a PH dialogue tool is intensively being used as a communication instrument while reflecting on patients' health, but a PH measurement instrument is not yet fully established.

A mindfulness training course was developed and implemented for primary care physicians to better cope with stress and improve job functioning.
Aim: To gain insight into the effects of the mindfulness training on perceived stress, self-compassion, and self-reflection of primary care physicians.
Despite increased recognition of self-care and self-awareness as core competences for health care professionals, little attention is paid to these skills during their education. Evidence suggests that a Mind-Body (MB) skills course has the potential to enhance self-care and self-awareness among medical students. However, less is known about the meaning of this course for students and how it affects their personal and professional life.

This controlled, quasi-experimental study aimed to investigate whether a mind-body medicine (MBM) skills course could reduce perceived stress and increase empathy and self-reflection in medical and nursing students.
Methods: The MBM course (consisting of experiential sessions of mind-body techniques and group reflections) was piloted among Dutch medical students and Swedish nursing students.
A new, dynamic concept of health, which aims to convince critics of the static WHO definition of 1948, was based on an invitational conference in 2009. The concept highlights function, resilience and self-direction. This general concept of health was further elaborated in a follow-up study aiming towards operationalization, and involving Dutch healthcare stakeholder groups.

Design: Subscribers of a Dutch nursing journal were asked to fill in an anonymous, structured, online survey related to the topic under study.
Results: A total of 355 people responded, of which 37% were familiar with the concept of IM in advance.

Background: Health is one of the main reasons for consumers to buy organic; however, scientific evidence for a health effect is still limited. The aim of this study was to investigate the perceived health effects experienced by consumers of organic food using a free access online questionnaire.
Results: A total of 566 respondents participated, of whom 30% reported no health effects.
Background: Integrative Medicine (IM) is an emerging field in paediatrics, especially in the USA. The purpose of the present study was to assess the attitudes and beliefs of Youth Health Care (YHC) physicians in the Netherlands toward IM in paediatrics.
Methods: In October 2010, a link to an anonymous, self-reporting, 30-item web-based questionnaire was mailed to all members of the Dutch Organisation of YHC physicians.
The purpose of the present survey was to assess attitudes, beliefs, experience, referral patterns and desire for education regarding complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies of paediatricians in the Netherlands. In 2009, the link to an anonymous, self-reporting, 30-item web-based questionnaire was mailed to all members of the Dutch Association of Paediatrics. The questionnaire included questions about demographics and practice characteristics, use of CAM by the paediatrician and/or his family, attitudes towards and knowledge of CAM, and inquiries about CAM use in their practice.
