: The aim of this study was to evaluate the serological response after the complete hepatitis B vaccination of patients according to the immunosuppressive treatment they underwent, and to identify potential factors associated with non-responders. : A prospective cohort study was conducted, and patients under immunosuppressive therapies were considered exposed. The main outcome was non-response to hepatitis B vaccination.

Nirsevimab Prophylaxis for Reduction of Respiratory Syncytial Virus Complications in Hospitalised Infants: The Multi-Centre Study During the 2023-2024 Season in Andalusia, Spain (NIRSEGRAND).

Background: Nirsevimab was indicated in a population level for all infants < 6 months during the 2023-2024 season in Andalusia (southern Spain). Our aim was to analyse the effect of nirsevimab in the reduction in complications in infants hospitalised for RSV bronchiolitis.

Methods: A retrospective observational cohort study was conducted in nine relevant hospitals from all provinces of Andalusia, a region with over 9 million inhabitants.

Background: Multidrug-resistant bacteria (MDR) represent a significant global health concern and vary in specific settings. Spain reported several annual deaths attributed to MDR bacteria, mainly carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales.

Objectives: We aimed to characterise the incidence and temporal trends of MDR bacterial infections or colonisations reported within the province of Granada (data from five hospitals), and to investigate factors linked to clinical vulnerability.

We aimed to analyze potential predictors for the development of metachronous fractures (MFs) after osteoporotic vertebral fractures (OVFs), with particular focus on radiological variables obtained at initial X-rays and computed tomography (CT) examinations, treatment applied (conservative management [CM] versus percutaneous vertebroplasty [PV]), and fractures located at the thoracolumbar junction (T11-L2). We conducted a two-center, observational retrospective study, including patients with single-level OVFs treated with CM or VP. We collected socio-demographic, radiological and treatment-related variables.

A Comparative Analysis of International Classification Systems to Predict the Risk of Collapse in Single-Level Osteoporotic Vertebral Fractures.

Introduction: Various classifications for osteoporotic vertebral fractures (OVFs) have been introduced to enhance patient care and facilitate clinical communication. However, there is limited evidence of their effectiveness in predicting vertebral collapse, and very few studies have compared this association across different classification systems. This study aims to investigate the association between OVF categories, according to the most widely used classification systems, and vertebral collapse.

Which is the role of driver- or passengers-sex on the severity of road crashes?

Aim: The aim of the study is to quantify the main ways in which the sex of the driver/occupant of a passenger car affects the severity of road crashes.

Methods: All 171 230 cars occupied by the driver and one or more passengers included in the Spanish Register of Victims of Road Crashes from 2014 to 2020 were included. We designed two cohort studies: In the first one, we estimated the Incidence Rate Ratios (IRR) between the sex of the drivers and the occurrence of any death and/or severe injuries among their passengers.

Prevalence of depression and anxiety in women with pelvic floor dysfunctions: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Female pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD) is a common condition affecting the emotional well-being of women.

Objective: To estimate the prevalence of depressive and anxiety symptoms in women with PFD. SEARCH STRATEGY, SELECTION CRITERIA, DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS: Following prospective registration (PROSPERO CRD42022362095) we conducted a search of three electronic databases (PubMed, Web of Science and Scopus) from inception to April 2023 without language restriction to capture studies reporting the prevalence of depression/anxiety among women with PFD (chronic pelvic pain [CPP], urinary incontinence [UI], pelvic organ prolapse [POP], and/or fecal incontinence [FI]).

In 2021, we identified a cluster of Elizabethkingia miricola cases in an intensive care unit in Spain. Because E. miricola is not considered a special surveillance agent in Spain, whole-genome sequencing was not performed.

Background: Colonisation by multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria is a global health issue. The identification of patients with a higher risk of colonisation is essential. Patients admitted to internal medicine services might represent a vulnerable population with a high risk of colonisation.

Liposomal Doxorubicin and Assays in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review.

Background: Liposomal Doxorubicin (Doxil) was one of the first nanoformulations approved for the treatment of solid tumors. Although there is already extensive experience in its use for different tumors, there is currently no grouped evidence of its therapeutic benefits in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). A systematic review of the literature was performed on the therapeutic effectiveness and benefits of Liposomal Doxil in NSCLC.

Medications and traffic accidents involving older drivers: do Spanish primary healthcare physicians know enough?

Background: Our aim was to evaluate Spanish family doctors' knowledge about medications that increase the risk of traffic accidents involving older drivers, and to obtain data about the involvement of family doctors in accident prevention activities and the associations between these factors and their demographic and workplace characteristics.

Methods: A cross-sectional study of 1888 family doctors throughout Spain was carried out from 2016 to 2018. Participants completed a previously validated self-administered questionnaire that explored whether family doctors distinguished between medications associated with a high or low risk of involvement in a traffic accident, investigated the appropriateness of advice given to older patients, and physicians' involvement in preventive activities.

Purpose: The activities related to the prevention of crash injuries in older adults (PCIOA) performed by Family Physicians (FPs) have been scarcely studied. Our aim was to estimate the frequency of PCIOA activities performed by FPs in Spain and its association with attitudes and beliefs regarding this health problem.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study in a nationwide sample of 1888 FPs working in Primary Health Care Services, recruited from October 2016 to October 2018.

Improvement of intermediate vision with new monofocal intraocular lenses: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Purpose: Monofocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) used in cataract surgery are designed to improve visual acuity (VA). The available evidence of new monofocal IOLs" functional benefits is limited. The aim of this meta-analysis was to analyze the improvement in VA using Tecnis Eyhance monofocal IOLs compared to standard monofocal IOLs Tecnis ZCB00.

Dermatological adverse reactions after vaccination with BNT162b2 in a cohort of healthcare workers.

Background: The description of the skin reactions produced by the different vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 has focused on the symptoms reported by the general population. There are few studies with very different measurement methods focused on healthcare workers.

Methods: A longitudinal observational study was conducted on all the healthcare workers from the Hospital Universitario San Cecilio that received vaccination against COVID-19 with BNT162b2.

Risk factors associated with early mortality after recovery from severe listeriosis: a multicentre 17-year longitudinal study.

Background: Listeriosis presents high rates of mortality but prognostic factors for early prevention are not well established. The aim of this study was to analyse factors associated with in-hospital and early mortality of adults after recovery from severe infection caused by Listeria monocytogenes.

Methods: All cases of listeriosis notified in the province of Granada from January 2005 to December 2021, including 9 centres, were included.
