Aims: To summarize the evidence background for education of good urodynamic practice, especially cystometry.
Methods: A search was done in PubMed for the last 5 years of publications selecting only clinical studies, utilizing the following keywords: cystometry 133 articles and filling cystometry 53 articles.
Results: The evidence with regard to clinical setting and cystometry technique, as well as for catheters and transducers type, infused solution and patient position is presented with recommendations.
Aims: Terms used in the field of chronic pelvic pain (CPP) are poorly defined and often confusing. An International Continence Society (ICS) Standard for Terminology in chronic pelvic pain syndromes (CPPS) has been developed with the aim of improving diagnosis and treatment of patients affected by chronic pelvic pain syndromes. The standard aims to facilitate research, enhance therapy development and support healthcare delivery, for healthcare providers, and patients.

FAP is a rare autosomal dominant disease caused by a mutant gene in chromosome 18, characterized by a variant transthyretin in which valine is substituted for methionine at position 30 (ATTR V30M), affecting mainly young adults. ATTR V30M positivity does not imply disease, but the disease is only present with ATTR V30M in serum.

Results: While N-propargyl isoxazolin-5-ones suffer 3-aza-Cope rearrangements at 60°C, the corresponding N-propargyl pyrazol-5-ones need a higher temperature of 180°C for the equivalent reaction. When the propargyl group is substituted by an allyl group, the temperature of the rearrangement for both type of compounds is less affected by the nature of the heteroatom present.
Objective: Bladder injuries are quite rare and complex complications of transobturator tapes in the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence, with very few published cases. The authors present a case report and discuss possible injury mechanisms and the role of cystoscopy in this setting.
Methods: A 51 year-old female with past surgical history of Burch colposuspension underwent an uneventful transobturator tape surgery.
Introduction And Hypothesis: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) must comply with the strict rules of design and conduct and their reporting should reflect it. Our aim was to evaluate how the quality of RCT reporting in pelvic organ prolapse (POP) has evolved.
Methods: RCTs in POP published between 1997 and 2010 were retrieved through a PubMed search.
[reaction: see text] Opposite enantiomers exhibit different NMR properties in the presence of an external common chiral element, and a chiral molecule exhibits different NMR properties in the presence of external enantiomeric chiral elements. Automatic prediction of such differences, and comparison with experimental values, leads to the assignment of the absolute configuration. Here two cases are reported, one using a dataset of 80 chiral secondary alcohols esterified with (R)-MTPA and the corresponding (1)H NMR chemical shifts and the other with 94 (13)C NMR chemical shifts of chiral secondary alcohols in two enantiomeric chiral solvents.
