Osteochondroma is frequently found in the general skeleton but is rare in the condylar region of the mandible. We report a case of an osteochondroma of large size and rapid growth in the mandibular condyle, which was treated with total condylectomy and condylar replacement with a costochondral graft and preservation of the articular disc. In cases with a healthy and well-positioned articular disc, it may be preserved with no need of disc repositioning.

Biological therapies offer the possibility of long-term therapy with improved safety and efficacy. METHODS: We conducted a multicentre, open-label, single-arm, Phase IIIb/IV study of adult patients (18-75 years) with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis who were candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy.

Purpose: Cell proliferation and extracellular matrix formation are primary events in bone formation. At the dental implant-tissue interface, implant surface roughness modulates osteoblast functions. The aim of the present in vitro study was to investigate the effect of varying surface roughness of titanium implant material on cell proliferation and mRNA expression of specific markers of osteoblast phenotype.

However, marginal mandibular resection is biomechanically secure in its design while maintaining the mandibular continuity. This procedure has proven to be a successful method of treating squamous cell carcinoma with limited mandibular involvement.

Glutaraldehyde (GA) is normally used to crosslink collagen biomaterial, but is often cytotoxic. Diphenylphosphoryl azide (DPPA) has recently been proposed as reagent, but little is known about its effects on cell behavior.

The solitary fibrous tumor is traditionally associated with a mesothelial-lined surface. However, any organ with mesenchymal tissue has the potential for developing this tumor; therefore, it has been described in organs not associated with serosal surfaces. We report a case of solitary fibrous tumor of the parotid gland.
