Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the top five cancers in incidence and mortality worldwide. The early detection of this neoplasm through analysis of circulating free DNA (cfDNA), which carries tumor genetic alterations, as a liquid biopsy, could have a major impact in enhancing early detection and reducing the mortality rate. The aim of this work was to demonstrate the feasibility of using cfDNA as a liquid biopsy for the early detection of CRC.

Although models of spinal diseases and trauma are used frequently, no methods exist to obtain high-resolution myelograms in rodents. Thereby, our aim was to explore the feasibility of obtaining high-resolution micro-CT myelograms of rats by contrast-enhanced dual-energy (DE) and single-energy (SE) digital subtraction.

It is a rare and aggressive malignancy, generally associated with continuous occupational exposure to asbestos. Only a multimodal-approach to treatment, based on surgical resection, chemotherapy and/or radiation, has shown some benefits.

C6 rat glioma cells are one of the most aggressive carcinogenic tumors, due to its high mortality rate in human beings and animals. The current treatment for this illness includes surgery, radio and chemotherapy, showing relapse in patients treated with those therapies. Since the ozone was found to be an effective bioreactive to inhibit growth of several carcinoma cells in vitro and in vivo.

The HIV Tat-derived peptide has been used to deliver various cargos into cells. The aim of this research was to synthesize and assess the in vitro and in vivo uptake of (99m)Tc-N₂S₂-Tat(49-57)-c(RGDyK) ((99m)Tc-Tat-RGD) in α(ν)β(3) integrin positive cancer cells and compare it to that of a conventional (99m)Tc-RGD peptide ((99m)Tc-EDDA/HYNIC-E-[c(RGDfK)]2).
