The Influence of Schmorl Nodes in Spinal Sagittal Balance in Young Adults.

 The present study aims to characterize the spinal balance (SB) in young adults with Schmorl nodes (SN).  A cross-sectional study was conducted on a sample of 47 young adults. Lumbar magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was used to divide the patients into an SN group and a control group.

Missed Tillaux Fracture and Syndesmosis Injury in Adult: Arthroscopic Assisted Reduction and Fixation.

Tillaux fractures are fractures of the lateral margin of the distal tibia, usually reported in children between 12 and 14 years old. As intraarticular fractures, they require anatomic reduction and fixation to avoid posttraumatic complications. Since the injury mechanism is external rotation of the foot on the leg, these injuries are commonly associated with other fractures or ligamentous lesions.

Cryptococcus magnus Periprosthetic Shoulder Infection: A Case Report.

Case: We present a 68-year-old diabetic man with a periprosthetic shoulder infection (PSI) by Cryptococcus magnus. The fungus was identified 4 weeks after a revision surgery for a chronic bacterial PSI. Treatment was successful with a 2-week course of intravenous liposomal amphotericin B (5 mg/kg) followed by 6 weeks of fluconazole (200 mg/d).

Radiological predictive factors for the outcome of surgically treated calcaneus fractures.

Calcaneus fractures are fairly common and clinically relevant due to their poor outcome. Thus, solving the controversy regarding treatment and outcome prediction should be a target. This study intends to evaluate the predictive ability of common radiologic tools for the surgical outcome of calcaneus fractures, regardless of treatment modality.
